Overall Review: My system: Motherboard: ASUS Maximus IV Gene-z Z68 CPU: Intel Core 7 2600K 16 GB (1600) RAM 2 TB SATA III HDD. I installed Windows 7 (64 bit) on HDD, then I ran Intel RST software to configure the SSD as cacheable drive. Works great.
Just works great
Pros: Just works great with my Windows 7 (64bit) system.
Cons: Internal port is 6-pin 1394 female (same as external). I'd wish it was 6Pin IDC female. You might need adaptor from to resolve it. One of the external ports is shared with internal one. If you're connected to the internal port, the shared external one becomes unavailable. It's, actually, mentioned in the item description.
Great motherboard
Pros: It is really great motherboard. Extremely easy to install. I was able to overclock my system in lust a few minues to 33% (4550 Mhz) CPU and 50% GPU. Very stable. Great BIOS software. Great documentation.
Cons: Entry level Tech support is not very helpful. Lack of DVI output Lack of Firewire output Realtek audio driver has issues, which ASUS tech support can not address.
