Best price vs performance

EVGA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card 512-P3-N801-AR
EVGA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Graphics Card 512-P3-N801-AR

Pros: One of the least expensive 8800gt cards WITH 512mb. Haven't tried to overclock yet, but even at default speed, kills my old 7950gt.

Cons: Nothing that I can tell. Its not free, tho it is inexpensive.

Overall Review: Hands down the best medium-high end card since the Geforce Ti4200. Great for those moving to a wide panel LCD with ultra high native resolutions (such as 1920x1200).

Works as advertised

ZyXEL BRG35503 DOCSIS 3.0 Residential Cable Modem Up To 160 Mbps Down and 120 Mbps Up RJ-45, Gigabit Ethernet DOCSIS 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1, Euro-DOCSIS 3.0
ZyXEL BRG35503 DOCSIS 3.0 Residential Cable Modem Up To 160 Mbps Down and 120 Mbps Up RJ-45, Gigabit Ethernet DOCSIS 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1, Euro-DOCSIS 3.0

Pros: I am skeptical of the device's quality vs price. However if it holds up to the punishment I intend to put it through over the next few months, It's a bargain. My download speeds have nearly doubled relative to my docsis 2.0 Motorola Surfboard, while still on the same internet plan. Streaming 1080p streams to 5 different PC's doesn't seem to cause as many hiccups as it used to.

Cons: Housing is noticeably cheaper plastic than the Surfboard series. I don't expect high impact trauma, so its not worth knocking a point off for.

Overall Review: The low cost and Comcast compatibility should trump cheap plastic housing and lack of fancy LEDS. It's a modem, it does it's job in the background.

Intel does it again...

Intel Core i5-2500K - Core i5 2nd Gen Sandy Bridge Quad-Core 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Intel HD Graphics 3000 Desktop Processor - BX80623I52500K
Intel Core i5-2500K - Core i5 2nd Gen Sandy Bridge Quad-Core 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Intel HD Graphics 3000 Desktop Processor - BX80623I52500K

Pros: Great processor! Fast, cool CPU that only gets better when O/C'ed. Do yourself a favor and get a good P67 board, cram it full of ram, get an aftermarket heatsink and GET THIS CPU! Not worth the extra $$ for the core i7 at this point.

Cons: its not a 10ghz 8 core 128bit cpu.

Overall Review: Intel has not had this high of an O/C performer since the early Core2 Dual days. Nothing performs like this, at this price level.

Works Great

LITE-ON Black 4X BD-ROM 8X DVD-ROM 32X CD-ROM SATA Internal 4X Blu-ray Reader Model iHOS104-06
LITE-ON Black 4X BD-ROM 8X DVD-ROM 32X CD-ROM SATA Internal 4X Blu-ray Reader Model iHOS104-06

Pros: Cheap, easy installation (tho what isnt these days?), does exactly what it should. Power DVD ver 10 is necessary to properly play most blu-ray discs. A good inexpensive solution for HTPC's or even gaming PC's.

Cons: Didn't come with a software player, but didn't expect a bare drive to include that anyway. Back in the day we used to complain about the standard white/cream color of computers... Black is getting a bit old, tho it does match most cases fairly well.

Overall Review: Running Windows 7 (32bit), Intel Q9300, Nvidia gtx275 video, 42" Panasonic Viera plasma.

Cheap, strong signal

Rosewill RNX-G1W Wireless White Dongle with External 2dBi SMA Antenna IEEE 802.11b/g USB 2.0 Up to 54Mbps Wireless Data Rates
Rosewill RNX-G1W Wireless White Dongle with External 2dBi SMA Antenna IEEE 802.11b/g USB 2.0 Up to 54Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: Cheap, reliably picks up and stays connected to a signal that my notebook's internal minipci based wifi couldnt hold.

Cons: Kinda clunky, but its usb so it can be hidden in back.

Overall Review: Very useful on the road, campgrounds and hotels can have spotty coverage, but with this you can extend the range and strength of most signals.

Rugged Cheapo

Sennheiser - Professional DJ styled - Closed Dynamic Bass Headphones (HD 202)
Sennheiser - Professional DJ styled - Closed Dynamic Bass Headphones (HD 202)

Pros: I got these because they were cheap almost 5 years ago. They have taken quite a beating. Im not sure why other people have had breakage issues with these headphones, they must be pulling the wires out of the phones as there isnt that much to break with these. The headband is one piece flexible plastic, the speakers pop off from the headband using a breakaway ball and socket connection. The sound is very good, and as most closed-back phones, they cancel outside noises and sounds fairly well. Also nearly 10 foot of heavy duty cable, not the puny wires on earbuds.

Cons: they arent free, and they wont clean your house or walk the dog.

Overall Review: They dont fold up and arent going to sound the best, but for the small amount they cost, these should last quite a while.
