Was great...
Pros: Very rugged. Great design. Looks cool. Holds a lot of data.
Cons: I had one that died about 3 months after I got it, I RMA'd it, at my expense. They sent me a new one, which is now starting to fail. I'd RMA it again, but there are sensitive documents on it. It mounts long enough for you to see everything, and then suddenly unmounts.
Overall Review: I'm going to find another drive, I'm tired of these.
These drives made me cry
Pros: They hold a lot of data.
Cons: Mine have given me massive problems. I bought two of these and I've had problems with both of them. At random times they will just stop sending data. Everything comes to a complete and total halt. Usually this happens mid-data transfer. I was running one for the OS at one point and every 15 minutes or so, the system would just hang, nothing would respond and the entire system was dead frozen. Of course, when I tried contacting Western Digital customer support, they basically told me I was out of luck and to contact Microsoft. They didn't even offer me the chance to RMA. I will never buy anything from Western Digital ever again.
Overall Review: I'm glad to see I'm the only one that has run into this problem on here. I saw a few other people with the same problems on a forum I visit, but I just wish Western Digital hadn't pretty much ignored me.
Horrible drives
Pros: It's 1.5 TB?
Cons: I got two of these drives and when I got them, they didn't seem that bad. But within 15 days of getting them I noticed problems with speed and random lockups. I tried asking WD support for help and they refused because I was running Windows 7 Beta. I waited 2 weeks and they claimed my problem was windows related and that I should contact Microsoft... yeah, still haven't. But what I did do is post on a popular tech forum and find a number of people with the same problem. I'm not even going to ask for an RMA, it's not worth it to get another set of these.
