Pros: Great CPU.....overclocked to 3 Ghz and running great.
Cons: Shipping took a little longer then what was advertised on Newegg.....I still love the Egg for providing free shipping eventhough the economy is in shambles.
Overall Review: Was running a phenom 9600 and the best overclock I could get out of it was from 2.3 Ghz to 2.5 Ghz, and that wasn't very stable to say the least. I was going to purchase the quad 9950 BE so that I could get a decent overlock; however, after some research, I found out that people were overclocking this triple core to 3Ghz and beyond with nothing more then a multi and voltage change. After recieivng this CPU, I threw it in my motherboard and changed the multi to 15x and adjusted the voltage to a modest 1.3v and it runs great on a cheap MSI 790x v1 motherboard. For some reason, I did not have the option to change my cpu voltages in the bios (go figure), so I was able to adjust it in AOD. I was able to change the multi to 16x and running at 3.2Ghz and able to boot into windows; however, no luck on running AOD stability test or on prime95. I play MMOs (Warhammer-AOR) and my frames per sec jumped from 25-35 to 50-70s on highest settings, running at 3 Ghz. Saved $50 not getting the X4 9950.
Pros: Lets start by saying that after one day of ownership I am extremely impressed. Not only did Newegg get this to me in flash, but I also give two thumbs up to UPS. 1. Eventhough the screen resolution is 1600x900, it has to be one of the best looking screens that I have ever seen in a laptop. Colors are very rich and no blurring of text..not sure if I would notice the difference between this resolution and 1920x1080. 2. This laptop is pretty speedy, and for some reason this thing seems faster then the G73 JH ( with same proc) which I also have. I play EQ2 and this spits out some impressive FPS at high settings, averaging 50-60 fps. 3. The backlit keyboard is really nice, being able to change up the colors on keys and other places on the laptop. 4. Very solid design. 5. Free accessories to include a nice hat, premium mousepad 6. Installation CDs....very nice to see people sending these with the systems. 7. Sound from speakers if on par with most systems that I have seen.
Cons: Very heavy. wieghs more then my 17" G73.
Overall Review: Got an awesome deal through Newegg, there were two discounts combined for President's Day. 1600x900 resolution, 6 gigs of ram, 500gb (7200) HD, and an ATI Mobile 5850 1gb. No other wibsite came close to offering any Alienware at the price I bought it for. Yes, I know there are other laptops out there that have just as good specs or better for the price but they don't come close to the build quality. Don't get me wrong, I bought this because the price was right atm and I don't blame people if they don't want to pony of the money for the regular price of this laptop.
Pros: Talk about impressive. I was able to unlock the other two cores with a GIGABYTE GA-MA785GM mobo; however running on 4x is not very stable, but got it up to 3.6 Ghz into windows and running apps ( would crash running Prime95). I am able to overclock dual core to 3.8 by utilizing the miltuplier and upping the FSB to 206, and setting CPU voltage to 1.45v. Heat isn't an issue since I am using a Zalman 9700 and running Prime95 stable with load at 52 degress and idle at 36-38 degrees.
Overall Review: Was running an older AMD Tripple core (AM2) OC'd to 3.1 and that ran pretty hot. With a GTX 260 my 3DMark06 score was 13900. I am now getting 17600 with the same GPU and the 550 BE. Great job for a $100 CPU!!!
Pros: Great card, does a great job with the current resolutions I use it on a 24" ViewSonic monitor. I get decent FPS when playing games like AoC and EQ2. For the price and O/C to include a nice warranty, this card is hard to beat.
Overall Review: I am coming from a 3870 crossfire setup and I have to say that this GTX 260 is the sweetspot for single GPU cards. Honestly tho, I could have went either way when purchasing a a new card, cause the 4870 puts up some decent stats as well...have to love the competition :)
Pros: What can I say, but, WOW. I am really impressed with the quality build of this case. The layout is nice with plenty of room to expand. There are plenty of case fans to cool off the case and to keep your temps down. *** Great Service and fast delivery from the Egg***
Overall Review: The price for this case was well within my budget and well worth it too. Lots of room for a Mid tower case. I am currently running a crossfire setup with two 3870s and multiple HDs. There is even room for me to add my soon to arriving Thermotake VGA power supply as well. I am really impressed with the HD racks which mount the HDs sideways and at an angle inside the case vs the standard mounting which limits the amount of room you have for larger video cards. This is hands down one of the better cases I have owned.
Pros: Great memory, so far it has not disappointed me. I had no problem o/c both my processor or my memory. Looks great as well, I really like the heat spreaders Mushkin has added, they add a nice touch to my case. ** High Five to the Egg for great service and quick delivery **
Overall Review: Came w/ a copy of vantage :) I have noticed the Mushkin brand has been around for awhile and I have always read good reviews about their products, but I have always been hesitant to purchase their products. What a fool I was to wait till now. I can't praise this memory enough. Mushkin is now on my list of "go to" products whenever I need pc memory.
