What is everyone talking about?

SAMSUNG 997mb-TwoTone Silver-Black 19" CRT Monitor 0.20mm(H) Dot Pitch D-Sub
SAMSUNG 997mb-TwoTone Silver-Black 19" CRT Monitor 0.20mm(H) Dot Pitch D-Sub

Pros: Excelent Picture Quality! This monitor is a HUGE upgrade from my 6 year old Dell 17`. The picture clarity is awesome and I'm not exactly understanding why everyone is saying there is distortion on the screen. Granted out of the box the screen does have a bit of a bow on the right side ... but with a little bit of tinkering I got it perfectly square. The brightness problem only occurs if you use highlight zone ... which if you like a normal looking brightness ... you won't use. This monitor is great for the money ... and the resolutions are awesome. The Magic Tune software is AMAZING (once you get it working) and blows me away with the amount of control it offers straight from the desktop.

Cons: Expect a little bit of tinkering to get a perfect picture and the included software (Magic Tune) to crash. Search around the Samsung website to get an updated version (4.0) ( http://www.samsung.com/Products/Monitors/magictune/magictune_05s.htm ) and you should be all set.

Overall Review: Great monitor, great price. Looks kinda wide screen ish ... so thats another plus in itself. A must buy for those of us not born into wealth. ;)

An old gaming friend...

AMD Phenom 9950 - Phenom X4 Agena Quad-Core 2.6 GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Black Edition Processor - HD995ZXAGHBOX

Pros: Solid and consistent performance Overclock Stable on AIR COOLING Extremely Durable

Cons: I seriously can't name any other than TLC timing bug. I didn't know it existed until year 3 or so, but once that was handled, this monster's potential was truly unleashed.

Overall Review: This was my first real upgrade. I have seen so many amazing worlds and done so many amazing things because of this CPU. It is finally time to retire my old friend. Over to Intel I go, but I will never forget this absolute IRONMAN of a chip. From hot 3rd floor apartments, to humid summers in our new rental house, this beast has kept me playing literally without fail. Not a crash, not a bug, nothing caused by the CPU itself. EVER. Even when OC'ing. It was always my memory or GPU causing issues. It's running solid at 2.9 as I write this, and my new parts ship in the mail. Hats off to AMD for this one, minus the pesky little mishap with TLC timing, I don't think I'll ever have another piece of hardware as reliably awesome as this one. Thank you guys for the years of fun. Cheers.
