PHILIPS 202P73/27 Silver-Black 22" CRT Monitor 0.25mm Dot Pitch D-Sub
PHILIPS 202P73/27 Silver-Black 22" CRT Monitor 0.25mm Dot Pitch D-Sub

Pros: Perfect gaming monitor, much better than any LCD I have tryed including the Veiwsonic VX922-924. If your thinking of getting this for gaming look no more. Easy to set up, all pictures (taken on digital camra) look natural and the size really brings you into the game. Runs@85hrz at all the resolutions I use including 16x1200. The silver and black sceme match my Saitek keyboard, logitech MX518 mouse and super lanboy case perfect. Even my Canon Pixma 5000 matches. Did I mention this monitor is perfect for gaming?

Cons: This thing is a monster, make sure you have the space for it. This thing is so much larger than a 19 in, it actually took time to get used to.

Overall Review: If you do some digging you will find this model uses a Mitsubishi tube which are one of the best you can get. Has no annoying lines running through the screen. Arrived in perfect condition one day early, nice job as always Newegg.

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Interface Sound Card

Pros: If you like music and movies this card is great.

Cons: Caused freeze ups in COD2, that alone tells me the card is not that great for gaming. There are alot of game related issues with using this card. I was using the latest drivers of the web.

Overall Review: If your a gamer, stick with the Audigy 2-ZS. The X-Fi needs time before all the bugs get worked out.

MSI Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card R4870-T2D512 OC
MSI Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card R4870-T2D512 OC

Pros: FYI, this is actualy a overclocked version and the first one to come into retail.

Cons: I hope MSI fixed the fan speed issues, esp since this one is overclocked.

Overall Review: Newegg needs to fix the specs on this one as it may sell better. It's also the cheapest, wow.

EVGA 01G-P3-1282-AR GeForce GTX 280 SuperClocked Edition 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card
EVGA 01G-P3-1282-AR GeForce GTX 280 SuperClocked Edition 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

Pros: This card OCs like a beast. Stable at 730/1500/2600 and still has more room but Nvidias OC tool stops there for the core. No heat issues when you select 100% fan speed at 70c. I added a Dangerden waterblock and now at idle is 40c and full load at above clocks is 60c. I'm using a Koolance Exos1 with 1/4 fittings to boot.

Cons: Fan can be noisy at 100%, I went with a waterblock. Make sure your case has ALOT OF AIRFLOW as thats why people are complaining above overheating issues, it's not the card.

Overall Review: Don't waste your cash on the OCed versions, as you can see the regs OC just as well or better.

EVGA 01G-P3-1286-AR GeForce GTX 280 FTW Edition 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card
EVGA 01G-P3-1286-AR GeForce GTX 280 FTW Edition 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

Pros: It's fast at 'stock' speeds.

Cons: Why do people keep wasting their money on these factory OC versions? Money is better spent on a PSU/Watercooling and the like.

Overall Review: Before you drop the extra cash for this card read. I have the supeclocked version (only one in stock at the time) and it clocks to 720/1500/2600 with out any trouble. Thats faster than the one here folks and it was cheaper. There is no hard way to OC your card just install Nvidias new Nvidia System Tools 6.02. Set your OCs and the utility will set your new OC everytime you start your PC. Oh, this model will not overclock any better than the rest so don't think it will.

EVGA 01G-P3-1282-AR GeForce GTX 280 SuperClocked Edition 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card
EVGA 01G-P3-1282-AR GeForce GTX 280 SuperClocked Edition 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

Pros: I got this card from Newegg and didn't want a factory OC but it was the only EVGA card available. I have this card clocked to the 'for the win' clocks and still testing for even higher clocks. The trick to get these cards stable is make sure fan speed is set to 100%. It will be loud but stable. If you read the EVGA forums, the trick to the 'for the win' card is a moded fan profile in the bios making it go to 100% much faster than the reg versions, so by nature the 699.00 'for the win' is the loudest of them all. I'm going to add a waterblock to it as soon as Dangerden makes them available. This way I will have a card running over 700 core that makes no noise. I also have noticed watercooling will provide you with far better stable overclocks. In the past it was more of a luxury and never managed overclocks better than what I had on air. Use Nvidias new performance software for overclocking and monitoring temps, it's a great utility and allows fan control as well.

Cons: The price. The stock cooler is noisy esp if you intend to overclock. Infact I would say a aftermarket heatsink is mandatory for overclocking if the sound of the fan bothers you. Thats an extra 150.00.

Overall Review: Don't buy the hype on the 4 series by ATI. The 4870 is nothing more than a duel gpu card with the same problems SLI and crossfire have. This means ther will be times when the 4870 will run your games like a 4850 and or at half the performace it should. The GTX 200 series are a single GPU card, this means better game compatibility and ensures the card will be playing all your games at ubber speeds and performance 100% of the time. Single GPU cards also provide far better system stability on a whole. The GTX 280/260 are the real deal people and as the past 5 years have shown Nvidia is the way it's truly meant to be played.
