Works great

Crucial 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Micron Chipset Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model CT2KIT25664AA1067
Crucial 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Micron Chipset Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model CT2KIT25664AA1067

Pros: I was worried about this product working with my 800Mhz FSB, but it worked right out of the box in dual channel mode with no BIOS tweaking. I can't wait for my CPU upgrade so I can take full advantage of the speed of this RAM.

Cons: None

Overall Review: I have noticed a lot of people complaining about the lack of heat spreaders on this and similar products. I have been a systems integrator for Intel for the past 9 years and have yet to see a RAM stick get hot enough to require a heat sink, they are just for show. So don't worry about it.

Why bother

ASUS Power of 3 Game Coupon

Pros: I thought it was really cool to get a free download with the purchase of my GTS250, I got a t-shirt with a video card one time and it gave me that same warm fuzzy.

Cons: The download took FOREVER to complete, I was getting a transfer rate of about 600 Kbp/s. But hell, it was free.

Didn't really like it

Rosewill Wind Knight Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with pre-installed 2x 120mm Fan, Support up to 1x 140mm top fan, 2x 140mm side fan, 1x 140mm front fan, 1x 120mm rear fan
Rosewill Wind Knight Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case with pre-installed 2x 120mm Fan, Support up to 1x 140mm top fan, 2x 140mm side fan, 1x 140mm front fan, 1x 120mm rear fan

Pros: This case is very well constructed, not flimsy like some clearing house chassis I have had in the past. It has enough fan mounts to accommodate the most serious gamer, there are enough cable tie downs to make routing easy, and the holes are already pre formed for liquid cooling set ups.

Cons: The perforations for the fan grille are too large not to have filtration, have already fabricated filters for mine. If you have pets or live in a dusty area like me, dirt infiltration is a major concern. The motherboard stand-offs left my MB set back about 1/4 inch from the rear panel bezel. The Hard Drive mounting system have you place the business end of the drive facing backwards, so if you have to add, remove, or re-arrange your drives you have to remove both side panels (the left side for cabling the left side to add or remove drives. The expansion card retaining clips barely have enough force to hold a board in place, they are all really lose and with all the vibration from all the fans my boards are creaping on me.

Overall Review: I wouldn't really recommend this case mainly because of the expansion retaining clip issue mentioned above.

Always ASUS

ASUS P5QL/EPU LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P5QL/EPU LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Asus always makes good quality boards. I chose the LGA775 because that is my current CPU, have had it for 4 years in 3 different rigs now. This MB has lots of options for upgradability for me. This is my 7th Asus board and I just love them.

Cons: I have been a professional system integrator for Intel for the last 9 years and I have yet to understand why board developers haven't done a re-design yet. With the recent improvement in manufacturing technology, resulting in less populated boards, I don't see why the PCIe slot hasn't been moved to accommodate a dual slot graphics card without covering an available expansion slot. That is really the only complaint I have.

Love it

ASUS GeForce GTS 250 1GB GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 SLI Support Video Card ENGTS250 DK/DI/1G

Pros: It worked right out of the box, have no issues. Get a lot of bang for your buck with this card.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Have no benchmarks yet but would definitely recommend it
