MSI MPG Z390M GAMING EDGE AC LGA 1151 (300 Series) Intel Z390 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
MSI MPG Z390M GAMING EDGE AC LGA 1151 (300 Series) Intel Z390 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: its exceptional. the PCB is thick. the layout is pretty thoughtful in design. *dual m.2 slots (clapping) 9th gen support out of the box i59600kf BIOS is good, pretty too, lol. advanced menu is more like it. *dual usb 3.1 headers. one high, one low. i used the lower header because the case i chose did not line up with the upper header. nice to not have to send back a case. the motherboard is not pretentious, and the led's can be turned off. i run white light in a smoke glass case, nice, but not disturbing, showcases the internal features. overclocking features are intuitive and straight forward. i ran a closed loop fractal design 240mm coooler with four fans in a push pull setup. oc'd the system board and cpu run stable idling at 32c. when it comes to the audio portion, everything was outstanding on my corsair gaming audio sp2500 hi power speakers, like really awesome. i connected it to my set of 7.1 logitech surround system.....really really terrible! so i guess the audio chip jives with some stuff, and nahimic vomits in the cone of others. after testing, i blame the speakers, not the audio chipset. bluetooth 5.0 and ac wifi really are a nice treat to have on board. and they both function well. bluetooth audio and connectivity tested via onsip. phone call quality is crystal clear. for the board being packed so tightly, there is adequate room for mounting everything providing you choose a case that meets your hardware measurement requirements. my specs are : i5 9600kf closed loop cooled by fractal design. asus gtx 1060 6g blower style. 32gb gskill trident ddr4 3333 white corsair mp510 960gb m.2 3rd gen ssd intel optane 64gb m.2 memory module 2 x 4tb SSHDD raid array fractal design meshify c mini black tinted tempered glass. buncha (7) corsair af120mm white led fans. LG dual 4k gaming ultra wides corsair k83 wireless keyboard

Cons: i didnt get any swag from MSI for writing this review?

Overall Review: its a solid motherboard. i build systems like this all day long every day, monday - fri 9 -5 pm..

NEW Measy GP830 Air Mouse Keyboard Remote Control Game Pad Voice Function for Android TV Box Window PC Smart HDTV
NEW Measy GP830 Air Mouse Keyboard Remote Control Game Pad Voice Function for Android TV Box Window PC Smart HDTV

Pros: nice feeling, glicking keys, accelerometer, mic function, good feeling in hand. bought two. one usb receiver failed. - 2 eggs for the lousy usb dongle in a nice remote.

Cons: usb receiver dongle failed in 1 day. systems do not recognize the usb receiver. tried android, windows, and debian. no go. im disappointed with the failed dongle, and happy with the remote. would like a better usb receiver replacement in the mail.

Overall Review: would like to say the remote is really nice, the reciever dongle is the cheapest junk they could find. it literally will fall apart in your hands when pulling it out of a usb port. they could have paired a matching quality receiver with the quality remote. also, the hiding place for the dongle is so obscure i thought it did not come with the receiver in either remote until i pried at the little (what looks to be an ir led behind some plastic). you will need a knife or spudger to pry it open, its in there tight and will break fingernails trying to remove it by hand.

im giving it 4.5 eggs

ASUS ROG Strix X470-I Gaming AM4 AMD X470 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI Mini ITX AMD Motherboard
ASUS ROG Strix X470-I Gaming AM4 AMD X470 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI Mini ITX AMD Motherboard

Pros: its a feature packed ITX form factor board. i was able to get a lot on it, and even thought i cooked the rgb header, but it was still fine, just the fan cooked. not headed well or labeled current directional hence the missing egg. figured it out, cost a 40 dollar fan. assembly in a phanteks evolv itx case was pretty straight forward even with it being a very tightly packed open loop, i have to say i have done and seen worse....far worse. aura sync works great with an ROG AURA SYNC led strip. i think that is why everyone hates the rgb, they went with another brand. everything mounted squarely and was assembled well. its a heavy and sturdy feeling board. the wifi antenna is a little awkward but was easily remedies with some 3m dual lock for a solid mount point. i like this board. i have had it for a while now and have put it through some rigorous testing. it holds up to the ROG name. id like to toss a third gen ryzen 7 in it soon to see what that puppy can do. overall i am happier than i was with my last intel asus rog Maximus impact series ITX system. but it too was a trooper and outlived its useful nature for me.

Cons: its a feature packed ITX form factor board. like i said before. theres little room to operate, so plan your build carefully and assemble as much as you can outside the case. the header for the power/reset switch and led indicators are poorly placed, and labeling is difficult to read, but upon further examination of the board, good job asus for finding a spot to put it. lol. this board is complex and so feature rich... to the point that the BIOS is darn near a game all on its own. the fan headers leave much to be desired when it comes to distinct labeling on the board, and the functions in fan xpert. the header for a pump seems dedicated and when i plug in a fan, it is detected as a pump. FAIl!. thankfully it recognizes the EK pump/res as a pump and not a fan. lol. its a lil quirky, the latest bios update seems to patch just about anything flawed that is/was firmware related. its a good board, lots of haters on here, i thought it deserved an explanatory and honest review. i have been building custom systems professionally for almost ten years and chose this as my own rig for home.

Overall Review: no, i would not recommend this board......to anyone aside from advanced and experienced builders. due to its size, tightly packed super close components, initial BIOS issues OUT OF THE BOX (snickers... smh good thing i know to look for that...ASUS), and the learning curve just to navigate the board system is a heap to absorb just to build a gaming rig. that being said, its dope, and makes a fly ITX box. AURA SYNC is a nice lighting effect system when you use the AURA SYNC mag strip LED. with some hefty tuning and a large cooling mod, overclocked to a stable 4.32ghz, i was able to get a second gen ryzen seven to perform equally well as a 9th gen i7 9700x. i know you heard that. cinebench r20 score 4192, decimating an i7 9700KF by a whopping 600 points. so there you have it.

excellent Mitx case

Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX Tempered Glass PH-ES215PTG_SRD Black / Red Steel Plates, Plastic, Steel Chassis Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case
Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX Tempered Glass PH-ES215PTG_SRD Black / Red Steel Plates, Plastic, Steel Chassis Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case

Pros: plenty of room, even though quite small in comparison to my thermaltake x1. its about the size of a decent MATX case, meaning there is enough room for an open loop. everything is well hidden, cables, fans, disks, and gpu...i like the gpu position and ill tell you in a minute why.

Cons: i could pick it apart, but my complaints rank very low when it comes to this case, so i am just going to say that it has its typical case manufacturer quirks, and is not a giant rolled steel fractal design case, with all the room in the world which is what i normally grab for clients. overall i can see why some consider the gpu position a con, but then i think their cooling setup is also flawed and their 240mm fan on their psu is facing down, fyi.

Overall Review: i was able to cram a mini itx rog maximus ryzen 7 build, with an EK open loop 240mm rad, reservoir and pump, 4 fan config'd in push/pull top mounted, all loaded into this case with a nitro rx 580 which stays nice and cool thanks to the psu sucking all the heat off it and blowing it out the back of the case<<tip.

i thought this could use a little clarity.

Seagate Desktop SSHD ST4000DX001 4TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Solid State Hybrid Drive Bare Drive
Seagate Desktop SSHD ST4000DX001 4TB 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Solid State Hybrid Drive Bare Drive

Pros: great internal storage drive when properly mounted, set to not be routine defragmented, used as storage (what high capacity disks are for), and well ventilated. i use two in raid, on two systems, they work great for well over a year without issue. the cache is pretty quick.

Cons: not for your OS. dont try it. if you do, you will wind up like the rest of the people complaining in 12-18 months. c'mon people, its a storage disk.

Overall Review: yeah id recommend it to someone who knows how to/has hardware that supports/has operating system that supports/sata 6 and can remember to use a 256gb ssd for a system drive.
