Pros: simple menu lots of options
Cons: Does not work. no usable instructions, help menu or tutorial but then you shouldn't need it because it's so simple if only it actually worked
Overall Review: I have the experience of using 4 different types of cloning software on multiple PC's and HD/SSD combos and all worked just fine, problem was they were free with the SSD's and I wanted a full version for repeated use and more than just basic cloning. Thought this might fit that purpose but.....tried to clone the boot drive from my laptop to a SSD ( multiple times and methods) and this software never could create a bootable SSD...had to again resort to the freeware that came with my SSD..
Pros: when it worked it functioned as described
Cons: 1st one died within a month, second after a year, the 12 volt power supply draws more power than a laptop unit..so you won't be able to find a replacement power supply... also there is no raid configuration information on the product, so don't lose or misplace the operators leaflet ....
Pros: cheap and they work
Cons: the retracting cord will not be happy with one handed operation, you must extend by pulling both ends of cord...no biggie yet it seems to be a challenge to some ...
Overall Review: so cheap that who care if you destroy a few 5 car charges 5 wall chargers which are universal USB so the work with any USB corded device as well as the supplied 5 apple specific cords...
Pros: easy install, SSD speed will eliminate the HDD bottleneck even on an older system it will make a huge difference. have had no issues in over 6 months of use
Cons: like a few other posts it will take you more time to download and activate the Acronis cloning software than actuall time to install and clone
Overall Review: none
Pros: I either works or it doesn't... plug and play paired up no problem with existing 16 GB of ram' recognized in bios on first boot... no errors whats so ever.rock solid so far...haven't tweaked but for high end video rendering no need as I don't push mote than 24 GB of usage in my projects...
Pros: 2 years of use issue free use. Nice feature is the tray opens and closes quickly...snag a cord and it tries to open and close to resolve as well just as quickly. Plays everything I have put in it and burns reliably. quiet as well
Pros: Works, and still going issue free after 1 year in service. I have 2 and use 1 as an active drive on a USB 3.0 EZ-Dock, and one as a back up for archival.
Pros: They work, ratchet has a very short throw so you can get it into places and crank on a bolt you normally would not with a standard box end.
Cons: too much packaging.. really... you actually need tools to get the wrenches off the heavy plastic package/display that it is sold with. and it does not double for any kind of usable storage...
Overall Review: I'd love to see tools t that actually came with a decent storage box or pouch, this has none and you end up throwing away enough plastic ( packaging) equal to a cheap latching box...
Pros: good quality, connectors have good fitment in phone and PC, good cable length, not too long not too short... heavy enough to hold up but not overly so as to effect flexibility...
Overall Review: the biggie is cable length. 3 foot is perfect. anything less than 3 foot limits what and where you can plug in.
Pros: Good sound, good battery life, simple to use
Overall Review: you have to remember to charge it LOL
Pros: quiet and stable
Overall Review: can get a bit warm, so if your stacking a few of these you may need to consider additional cooling
Pros: while it worked no problems, lasted almost 2 years
Cons: life time warranty is a joke, once the software support expires you cannot get it replaced without paying for the software support to verify its broke...
Overall Review: just got slow..reset...tested... wiped to factory defaults tested... reloaded updates tested... disabled everything I was an evening ritual for a month like that's all I had to do with my time......tech support says its software related...or it wouldn't power on.....for the price of their advice I bought a Belkin....it works...life is good...
Pros: Out of the box plug and play, with only OS loaded was noticeably faster than my old HD
Cons: Was not up to listed specs, managed only 120MBytes/Sec. on seq read and 87MBytes/Sec. on seq write verses manufacturer specs specs of 285 and 275.....and it really slows down as data is added...seq read 83.1, seq write 35.7, Random seek+RW 101.2 MBytes/sec at 2/3rds full (per passmark performance test)
Overall Review: Many programs require at least a partial install on boot drive, that said you may need to get creative or will run out of space real fast. Putting program sub folders and associated data on other drives will help manage space but doing so defeats the purpose of the drive. As an example my audio and video editing software cannot fit all folders and data on the SSD, only the base program executable data resides their which leaves some basic data required to open and run the programs loading from my traditional HD ( templates, effects, sound pools) so these applications have negligible performance gain. After all is said and done I basically spent $100 and alot of hours reloading and configuring software to be able to boot up my PC 30 seconds faster....
Pros: Plug and play, quiet, rock solid performance, physical dimensions are compact and clean. 2 slots period, no interfering with adjoining PCI slots and it will still get ample air flow.
Cons: Not a con as I was aware of size and location of power connectors, but they are on end of card, which on a mid size case will impact the placement of your internal HD's.
I'm stuffing in 5 internal HD's and a SSD so had to be creative
Overall Review: glitch-ed once on distant background rendering in WOW ( gray'd out backround) but....I was in ultra mode and capturing screen video in full HD while simultaneously on the second monitor creating multi track audio along with 3 windowized streaming video's .... fixed it's self as I flew over the next ridge. So even though there is a limit to what this card can do when it hits that point it won't crash...I'd give it a 5 for that reason alone
Pros: it works...
Pros: works, good quality will move air verywell in one direction and quietly...but....
Cons: install a pain, little sockets go in the pcb and expansion plastic screw twist in with screwdriver. large size requiring moving everything arouind and rethinking air flow scheme as this will move air in one direction. My orig cooler had simple thumb screw tabs in and out in seconds and had omni directionl radial flow which allowed case fans to dictate overall flow. Cooling improvement marginal over my orig. radial fan.
Overall Review: if you have a cheep cooling fan and issues with heat this will help but not much of a step up on a decent radial fan.
Pros: Easy set up with Wi Fi security single button an your hooked up... PC Printer all single button connect. Fast when set up in ideal location and configured
Cons: Range is pretty much the same as my old and I mean old super G 2 walls and 30 feet drops signal enough to slow rates... connection is highly dependant on signal strength. DA..... So unles you have a strong (all bars) signal don't expect much in speed improvement over G
Overall Review: get it located right and configured for maxx streaming you will rock a steady 280 with no drops. my netword drive is happy though if I lose powes or reboot get mutiple ip's for folders. need to set static ip's.
Pros: As advertised
Cons: NOT READY for 7...... . Requires patch and still media functions don't allow indexing for media library access. SLOW, especially if adding a second usb drive.
Overall Review: Bought back in the Vista days, NOT READY for 7...... . Requires patch. Update will work but not smooth sailing if you have data on it will have to back up and F disc... this is like a weekend project........... still cannot map drive to use media player library function and did I mention it's Slow, especially if using a second usb drive.
Pros: This will do it all, import, edit and convert just about any audio or video file. allows for milisecond time line for audio sinc and editing in movie editing. BUT not very well or easily.
Cons: Video editing a real pain, files cannot be moved from one function to another such as dvd files created within nero cannot be used directly in nero movie editing. saved movies loose all independant attributes such as seperate audio and track scenes and markers so when adding to a project it is uneditable. When trying to relocate the playing curser and inadvertently missing the curser a script box is generated followed by a windows error and shut down with loss of all data(reloaded software twice with same results). allows for milisecond time line for audio sinc and editing but curser controls jump in 10+ second intervals. video cut option very crude, hit and miss. Time line cannot be edited independently fron scene to scene so a 1 second cut at the begining scene will upset time line of audio video and text for entire project even with unsync time line option. Cannot add scenes at desired location, will drop at either end and require dragging from scene to scene.
Overall Review: I bought directly from nero for $xx so the new egg price is a comparitive deal. But I reccomed you really check out the reviews first.
