Intel Core i7-960 - Core i7 Bloomfield Quad-Core 3.2 GHz LGA 1366 130W Desktop Processor - BX80601960

Pros: This processor will handle anything you throw at it! I installed this processor and i never had any problems doing anything from hosting minecraft servers to playing games.

Cons: Gets really hot, even with a water cooler

simple looking case

Antec New Solution NSK3300 Black/Silver 0.8mm cold-rolled steel construction Micro ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 300W Power Supply
Antec New Solution NSK3300 Black/Silver 0.8mm cold-rolled steel construction Micro ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 300W Power Supply

Pros: Simple design, plenty of space for fans

Cons: Hard drive mounts are in akward places. With the second mount on the bottom of the case, it blocks the possibility of me adding an expansion board on the bottom of the case. I painted the front of the case black to make it look better, and when i put an aftermarket power supply in, i had problems getting the wires through. It's a nice case if you plan on leaving the original power supply in there and only having one hard drive.

Nice NAS case

LIAN LI PC-Q08B Black Aluminum Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case
LIAN LI PC-Q08B Black Aluminum Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case

Pros: -Small case, but has space for 7 HDDs. -Could use full size graphics cards if you want to lose 2 HDD bays

Cons: small case could get hard to work on if you have big hands

Overall Review: I use this case for my UnRAID build, and it is great. Small footprint, with room for 6 HDDs and one SSD. It will take me a while to fill it up

awesome little board

ASUS E35M1-I DELUXE Fusion AMD E-350 APU (1.6GHz, Dual-Core) AMD Hudson M1 Mini ITX Motherboard/CPU Combo
ASUS E35M1-I DELUXE Fusion AMD E-350 APU (1.6GHz, Dual-Core) AMD Hudson M1 Mini ITX Motherboard/CPU Combo

Pros: a whole lot of features in one small board!! Low power consumption runs cool 5 SATA6 ports

Cons: -Could be a little faster -Video drivers in ubuntu are useless for playing 1080p mkv files on this board. -price is high

Overall Review: I originally bought this to handle windows 7 running XBMC and in the background having a virtual machine of ubuntu downloading all my stuff. It handles it well, but then i wanted to build an UnRAID server and have this run XBMC live. The problem is that this board does not do well running linux. Playing 1080p mkv files in xbmc live is horrible, not even watchable. However, if you run windows 7 and install the drivers, it performs well. As of right now, i have a different setup running xbmc and i use this board for UnRAID since it runs cool, and i can afford to run it 24/7 as a network file share.

nice RAM

Pros: low price, looks cool

Cons: none

Overall Review: I have this on a small mobo i use for UnRAID...It is overkill to have this much RAM but oh well...

Excellent storage drive

Pros: Low power cunsumption, HUGE storage capacity

Cons: I have none, but have heard bad things about the intellipower

Overall Review: I have 3 of these in an UnRAID setup on my home network. I have not had a problem with them. They run cool, quiet, and are 3 TB each!! I like them.
