pretty good
Pros: the firewire 800 is fast. large size for price is nice. i have it hooked up to my iMac that i upgraded to Leopard. Time machine works really well.
Cons: the iMac would not format the hard drive to HFS+ initially. fortunately, i was able to reformat and repartion the drive using my linux machine (fdisk and mkfs). i had to reformat to fat32 before iMac was able to recognize the drive. i was able to reformat to HFS+ using Disk Utilities.
Overall Review: the fan is pretty noisy. sounds like a wounded train starting up. i was able to stick it in a closet though.
doesn't work
Pros: easy setup
Cons: it doesn't work. i needed cell access for my basement, so i bought this thinking it would get me signal. i've placed the external antenna where i get 4-5 bars, but get zero boost from the device. i should have gone with the more powerful booster
It's Dead, Jim
Pros: inexpensive, firewire 800, compact design
Cons: bought it in October, it has now died. i'm very disappointed with this, and should have listen to the reviews. well, i'll order the apple time capsule
Overall Review: it's kinda depressing to have something fail so quickly. i think it's the first product that i got from newegg that failed like this.
Don't go sledding with it!
Pros: small form, image stabilizer. bright LCD panel. movies almost good enough to replace a camcorder
Cons: small enough to go anywhere, except sledding. i took my kids sledding, and forgot about the camera in my pocket. the LCD was cracked by the end of the day
Overall Review: i'm getting a new camera as soon as they are available.
