Pros: It's true, that this isn't necessary. There are ways to replace a notebook HDD but this absolutely simplifies the process and makes it as easy as pie. Instructions are simple, the process is short, and the results are great. What more can you ask for? I used this to replace my Dell 6000 Inspiron ATA-6 40 gig HDD. I cloned its content (including Windows) onto my new 100 gig HDD and after 110 minutes, I replaced the smaller one with the larger one. The PC booted up without any problems! The ease and peace of mind it offers is worth the ~40 bucks.

Cons: Absolutely none. It succeeds at its job.

Overall Review: It's not entirely necessary but it simplifies a long and complicated process. After 110 minutes, I was able to replace my smaller HDD with the newer, larger one.

Cons: I'm very disappointed with this product. Yes, it's small and fast, but what good is that if the connection drops out constantly? I've had this for about a week now and I've already had to power cycle it three times. It's incredibly frustrating. Part of the reason why wireless adapters are so successful is because it's supposed to be a convenience. There's nothing convenient about power cycling your router/adapter every other day. I'm incredibly disappointed.

Overall Review: I'll be returning this to Newegg. There's no reason to keep a product that only works when it wants to.

Pros: Excellent upgrade at an excellent price. It is a quality name with quality results. I installed this on my Dell Inspiron 6000. Going from 512 to 2 gigs is unreal. Why did I wait so long? The added RAM helps everything on the computer so going this fast will reap many benefits.

Overall Review: The install was very simple. It's as simple as opening the cover and replacing the sticks. You won't be disappointed.

Pros: Replacing my OEM 40 gig ATA-6 HDD on my Dell Inspiron 6000, with this, was long overdue. I don't know why I waited to upgrade from the minuscule HDD. This booted up properly. It operates just the same way. It's the perfect OEM replacement.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: When replacing the HDD, remember to remove the adapter on the original HDD and put it on the new one!
