Excellent durability

Sony Optiarc Black 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM IDE DVD-ROM Drive Model DDU1615/B2s
Sony Optiarc Black 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM IDE DVD-ROM Drive Model DDU1615/B2s

Comments: I got the same unit only model ddu1613 this is model ddu1615 they are completley identical the 1613 is discontinued at newegg. This drive has been the reader in nearly 1500 seperate DVDs from edge to edge of the disk ripping. Outlasted 2 dvd burners. Still Rips DVDs like a champ. If you want a no maintenance quick and durable DVD reader/ripper to complement a DVD burner in your next rig. This is you baby. I also used this same drive in 5 other computers that I custom built.

GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-UD3H LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-UD3H LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Pros: This board is feature rich, looks nice and sturdy the GUI BIOS is awesome and I really had high hopes for the board.

Cons: They have a serious bug with the SPDIF being active all the time and being nothing but heavy and loud static white noise. I first noticed it when Skype auto selected it because it was showing microphone activity. I have looked the motherboard over and cannot find what is shorting or causing the SPDIF Input to be shorting. The pins and paths look perfect. I believe I have a "dud", of sorts and I believe this may be an unnoticed flaw by some of the reviews as you can mute or disable the SPDIF. At the price we pay for a higher end board I think this probably is not excusable as it would have been for a less feature rich board. I am going to buy a second board and replace it and if this board does the same thing I am not going to be using Gigabyte anymore for the same reason I quit using ASUS boards.

Overall Review: If the next board does not have this flaw I will create another review.

Good Card

Apollo AP-HD4830 512MB DDR4 Radeon HD 4830 512MB 256-bit GDDR4 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Supported Video Card
Apollo AP-HD4830 512MB DDR4 Radeon HD 4830 512MB 256-bit GDDR4 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Supported Video Card

Pros: So far this card is stable and performing very well. Its very cheap looking the heatsink is almost homemade. Its is conducting the heat very well and runs fairly smooth. I bought this card for a friend who wants to run a PC on his TV but not build an HTPC. The HDMI output with sound is amazing. I picked this card for its cheap price and its reasonable features. It got P4980 3DMarks with 3dmark Vantage.

Cons: Very cheap construction.

Overall Review: Just what I needed.

Great Board INTEL C-State Tech Stinks

ASUS P5QC LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P5QC LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Offers flexibility between DDR2 and DDR 3 on an LGA 775 for under $130. Tons of Bios features. ASUS is currently making BIOS updates all the time. 98% Stable minus C-State Tech. (power saving mode) Most tweaks work flawlessly including bios recovery. I love the BIOS updates via the bios menu. What a great idea. Great Board what i expect from ASUS. If you want pure stability turn off Intel C-State Tech in your BIOS menu.

Cons: I have been fumbling with the board for 3 days. I'm attempting to build green PCs and picked this board because I can use 1.5V sticks of DDR 3. (I dont have them yet as I write this) The Intel C-State makes this computer a freezing machine. When the CPU goes into deeper idles to save power it freezes and I loses connection to all my USB devices. If your playing sound/music when this freeze happens its freaks you out and sometimes makes screeches that scare the C**P out of you. If your not trying to save power you can just turn INTEL C-STATE off. Your PC should be just fine. Otherwise its a great board. I purchased it to save energy and reduce my carbon footprint it is crucial C-State worked for my 24/7 PC. Im the 1 in 100 million Americans who cares about global warming and just happen to get the only board that sucks.

Overall Review: They are updating bios for this board every month. I wonder how many people use the C-State or if ASUS is aware its buggy, its not a feature most people use. I tested this both with Vista 32bit and Windows 7. (install drivers for windows 7 under Vista Compatibility mode you should be OK) I have tried every single configuration I can possibly think of before disabling C-State. The low rating of the board makes me wonder also if people are not realizing the C-State is whats keeping them from being stable. ASUS can you hear me. Fix this so I can get my 24/7 on Green PC fully going. Random and useful info.... E8400 C0 stepping. 2x1 GB DDR 800 5-5-5-18 @ 1.9V Crucial XMS ???, Enermax 400W XFX 8600GT, Prime95 Stable 12 hours, Memtest stable 24 hours, The C-State will make it crash about 3 mins into windows OR 1 minute into the first time it gets to idle. So leave it OFF!!!!

EVGA GeForce 7900GTX 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Support Graphics Card 512-P2-N570-AX

Pros: Exellent Graphics card. For the price we got what we paid for. Runs cooler then other cards in the same class and its quieter then the fan on my BFG 6600 GT

Cons: Currently there are none. Remember you should have a strong power supply to use this card.

Overall Review: I installed it for a close friend of min whos system i custom built. Hes running AMD venic core @ 2.53ghz DDR 460 @ 2 3 3 7 1t with a Enermax 600W sli ready PSU. We thought we could play battlefield 2 with highest resolution and all settings on high. But we cannot. We installed another GIG of ram into the allready 1GB system for a total of 2GB and a DDR speed of 366 (cant OC 4X512 that well) That fixed the game completely. So for everyone that is going extreme on the card. For some Games you will need atleast 2gb of ram to run the newer games with all setting on HIGH. Have fun

Just Average Short life span for the $$$$

Pros: Ive owned this drive for almost a year now. REALLY LOW PI/PO errors of any DVD burner ive used. Means extremely high playback capability on most dvd players

Cons: Ive burned about 500 dvds and the drive started working intermitently. Shooting coasters left and right. For the money i spent it should last a lot longer.

Overall Review: The SATA works on ASUS K8N-E Deluxe if anyone was curious. Im still debating if i want another drive or a BenQ/Sony. I burn DVDs and sell them. So i need the highest compatibility wtih my TAIYO YUDENS
