Best Bang for your Buck
Pros: Fantastic Monitor for the price. I have five different monitors Asus 27" 3D 120hz, Asus 24" 144hz, Samsung 21.5", and an Apple Cinema Display (Thunderbolt). This monitor surpasses every monitor expect for the Cinema Display. For everyone wondering THIS IS A SAMSUNG DISPLAY FROM A REJECTED APPLE CINEMA DISPLAY. You get an Apple cinema display for a fraction of the price. I did have some pretty sever light bleed on the bottom right as well as the top left. After taking the monitor apart and applying tape as well as fixing the supports, the light bleed as almost non-existent. I was fortunate enough to receive a monitor with not a single dead pixel/stuck pixel. I was able to overclock the monitor to 133hz without any problems (using the program CRU/Nvidia settings. The color is a bit warm but after adjusting the color profiles it's better than the rest of the monitors. My apple cinema display had a green tint which was much worse then the orange/warm tint of the QNIX. I have to say if you are looking to get a 2k/1440p monitor I suggest the QNIX.
Cons: Light bleed - Fixable Color Temp - Fixable Poorly Built Stand - Unfixable (unless you mount it borderless with a VESA mount) Speakers - Poor quality but what do you expect it's a 1440p monitor for $300... Only a DVI-D port
Overall Review: Check out http://www.overclock.net/t/1384767/official-the-korean-pls-monitor-club-qnix-x-star for Overclocking and fixes! Remember this monitor only has a DVI-D port, may want to invest in the upgraded version that has hdmi etc.
Cheap
Pros: Cheap but you get what you pay for.
Cons: I was unable to fit my 770 4gb in the case, airflow is rather restricted. The blue lights are way to much.
amazing ram overclocked very qell
Pros: Overclocks easily to 2666+. I was able to get 2933 at 15-16-16 38 1t at 1.38v ! that's with two 16GB sets ! I also got in on sale for about 62.80!
Cons: none really!
From i7 to FX
Pros: Amazing chip! I have mine running at 4.8Ghz 1.427v with DRAM 1600 cas 9 at 2400Mhz 1.6v (crucial ballastic) on an MSI MATE Z97 board. I got the board and chip at mc for $99 as they had a bundle deal going. I do reccomend a water cooler to get up to this speed as anything past 1.4v gets very hot, I purchased a cheap cooler master on sale for $40 my temps are around 45-46 idle and 67 max. Before purchasing this chip I was using an i7 4930k at 5.0ghz for gaming but needed to use it for work. I then built an AMD rig to see how it does in gaming. I got a FX-6300 with a Gigabyte board, got that up to 4.8ghz at 1.5v (crazy high voltage I know) but stability was fine under stress tests. I bought a cooler master 120mm water cooler which kept it to about 72-75 under max load (62 for gaming). I paired this with a R9 270x which got me playable frames in Arma 2 and 3 but my problem was the studdering and increased frame latency times. I forgot to mention I am running this on two ssds one for the boot, samsung evo, and one for arma, samsung 840 pro. In the end I was extremely dissapointed not really in the amount of frames but in the smoothness of them. During this time I purchased the G3258 for my HTPC not realizing its potential. After the AMD disappointment I decided to try the G3258 with the R9/SSDs as a gaming rig and it did incredibly! The butter smoothness of the frames were amazing. I jumped up an average of 12-15 frames at 1080p from the AMD rig. The single core performance is on par if not better then my i7 (for games like Arma). I would recommend this to any looking for a powerful single/dual core performance chip or any gamer as long as you pair it with the right components.
Cons: I really can't think of any
Overall Review: make sure to get a water cooler if you want full oc,ing abilities
Decent Board for Hackintosh
Pros: Board is stable and is well prepared for SLI setups. The BIOS is easy to use and the dual boot function is great. RAM is stable running at 1600 32gb. Thunderbolt works perfectly and works very well on the OSX side. OSX installed without a hitch and didn't require any boot cammands
Cons: When the board arrived there were a couple bent pins on the south side of the board. Upon closer inspection I decided to fix it myself seeing as Newegg/ Asus would never accept the board back (I heard many horror stories saying they would claim it was user error) After purchasing a magnifying glass I fixed all the bent pins and board functions perfectly.
Overall Review: I purchased this as well as an Asrock z87 dual thunderbolt 9/ac board for my two systems. The Asrock is more stable but for running OSX this board would be my choice.
770 vs 780
Pros: Great card for 1440p+. I am running a 1440p, and 2 x1080p monitors with this card without a hitch. I suggest doing your reserach before purchasing this card. The 4gb might looks great at first but the MEM controller on the card usually can't utilize the 4gb of Vram. Skyrim with all the texture packs only uses 3gb the average game will only use 2gb. The real purpose of this card is for Multi display setups. I have an i7-4770k with a GTX 780 and an i7-4770k with a GTX 7704gb. The 780 performs much better than the 770 at every level. The 780 also can handle the full 3gb of Vram the card has to offer. If you have the money go with a 780.
Cons: Unable to use all the VRAM Card is extremely long had to upgrade the case to fit the card in (Roswelli Gaming to a Antec P280) When fans are at 100% there is a faint buzzing noise more noticeable with the case open. Max temp is around 67-70c under maximum load.
Overall Review: Does require TWO 6+2 power cables plus 45amps
