Excellent compact mechanical keyboard

CM Storm QuickFire TK - Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Brown Switches and Fully Backlit
CM Storm QuickFire TK - Compact Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with CHERRY MX Brown Switches and Fully Backlit

Pros: Cherry MX Brown Switches White LED to match that color scheme White backing behind keys to enhance lighting effect Nice bright LEDs with available pulsing lighting effect Numpad! On a compact size keyboard Impeccable build quality

Cons: Arrow keys are within numpad. This might be detrimental to some I personally would have preferred a different font on the keycaps, but this is the CM Storm signature font for their keyboards.

Overall Review: I have been waiting for the Quickfire TK - Cherry MX Brown w/ White LED version - to come in stock for weeks. From Newegg to Best Buy to B&H, this keyboard has been backordered for SO long. I would not settle with any other keyboard. Why? Because this is the only keyboard in the market that has the small form factor of the CM Storm Quickfire line as well as a numpad. I absolutely needed a numpad for daily use, but seeing as this keyboard was unavailable for so long, I was so close to settling with the newer Quickfire Rapid-I (which is a tenkeyless keyboard with flashy lighting effects). Thus, when I finally saw it available on Newegg two days ago, I was so excited. And my expectations when I received it were high. My other desktop arrangement at home features a Corsair Vengeance K70 Cherry MX Red with Red Backlight Keyboard. I like the seamless light feeling of the Cherry MX Reds, but for my dorm room setup (which is why I purchased the Quickfire TK) I was eager to try a new switch. I can 100% with confidence say that now I prefer the Cherry MX Browns. The Brown switches don't have a loud clack so they won't wake your roommate, girlfriend, or parents. They feel awesome with the subtle feedback when hitting the actuation point. The Quickfire TK has amazing build quality in that it feels heavy and substantial. The keycaps are great, and the backlighting is fantastic. The levels range from just right to really bright, and I love the pulsing light mode that matches my Steelseries Sensei mouse LED. I am sure the CM Storm line of mechanical keyboards all stick to this quality. If you are in the market for a mechanical keyboard go for a CM Storm keyboard. You won't be disappointed. If you are in the market for a compact size, numpad featuring, LED backlit keyboard - then the Quickfire TK is where it's at. There are multiple options when it comes to backlighting and switches, so check it out!
