Great upgrade from Athlon 3200+

Pros: Upgraded from a 3200+ and what a difference. I went from an Abit NF7-S v2 with one gig memory to an ASUS M2N deluxe and 2 gig memory and must admit multitasking is much improved. Overclocked easily to 3.0 ghz. Excellent price. Temp never gone over 41 C no matter what. I do have a well fanned case though.
Cons: not free
Update on WD RMA

Pros: None, this is an update to an earlier post
Cons: RMA'd mine to WD 7 weeks ago and still haven't gotten it back. WD claims that they are overloaded with RMA's but my replacement has been "prioritized". RMA in USA was supposed to be 7 to 10 days. Buy at your own risk.
Bought 2/24/12 Died 6/20/12

Pros: Large capacity, 9.5mm thickness
Cons: Died after 4 months. Back to my original drive. Constant read errors, BSOD, chkdsk on reboot, you name it. Glad I backed up my data or I'd be in a bad way.
Overall Review: Original review was a 5 star but now this sucker is dead so it gets a 1.
Good upgrade for old PC

Pros: Cheap upgrade for an old Dual core AMD 3800+ system with intergrated graphics. Max temp under load is 57 C, at no load 40 C. No fan a plus so no added noise. 3DMark06 score went from 170 (No Joke) to 3524. It was just the perfect choice for my applications, I have another PC for gaming so I only needed a basic graphics card and this was a great choice. Only $20.00 after rebate so excellent value.
Cons: Have to wait on rebate
Nice Home for old drive

Pros: Easy to install old laptop drive, tool included. 5 min or less and your up and running.
Cons: Included usb cable fits in external enclosure perfectly but not so on laptop usb end, very loose, caused a data transfer loss. Grabbed another spare cable to complete task
Not Reliable

Pros: none
Cons: Read/write errors from day one. I used a jumper on the pins per WD to use the drive for XP, errors galore. Removed the jumper and ran WD alignment tool, ran fine this way as a backup drive only. After a couple of months the errors started again, chkdsk showed and repaired several bad sectors. WD diag tools showed smart errors and one unknown error and bad sectors. RMAing to WD. Bought a Seagate to replace this one.
Overall Review: First WD drive I ever had problems with.
