Why get i7 when you can have this

AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 3.0 GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Processor - HDZ940XCGIBOX
AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition - Phenom II X4 Deneb Quad-Core 3.0 GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Processor - HDZ940XCGIBOX

Pros: Unlocked CPU multiplier. Easy overclock...even for Novice overclockers. The heatsink that comes with it looks beefy but i didnt use it with this processor. Instead i donated it to my sister in law for her X2 4000+...and it runs cool...very cool. Competes quite well with the i7, but the price makes up for the difference in the minimal edge the i7 has. Everest CPU Photoworx score: Core i7 Extreme 965 HT @$999.99 - 35393, Phenom II X4 Black 940 @$219.00 - 28404, 2x Quad Xeon (8 Cores) @$1,249.99x2- 25575 Those are all Newegg Prices...for a saving of over $700 you are getting an awesome deal. Excellent Price for an Excellent Processor.

Cons: It wasn't available sooner. I didn't have it sooner.

Overall Review: With the ease of overclock, and the low price, I can see this as being the processor of choice for many. 3Dmark05 scores in the 17000 range with Sapphire Radeon HD 4670 1GB ( have 2 but that is a griping point for me...no crossfire cables yet)

Most Critical Review

...RaidMax Should have done better...

RAIDMAX xA Combo Pack ATX-568WBP Black SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 380W Power Supply
RAIDMAX xA Combo Pack ATX-568WBP Black SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 380W Power Supply

Pros: It is a case...and the motherboard didn't fall out.

Cons: *sigh* where to begin...the Powersupply was the first thing to go...died within 3 months. The front of the case fell apart after 4 months....the Blue LED fan...well it died about 1 month after that...the only part that is still in one piece is the window (surprisingly)

Overall Review: This case is one of the worst cases i have ever dealt with. I would not recommend it to anyone

Has a nice feel to it...but some minor things that would take it to the next level....

CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)
CM Storm Devastator - LED Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo Bundle (Blue Edition)

Pros: The Blue LED looks great....lights up the keys very well... The keys themselves have a nice feel to them....doesn't feel like it is going to break... THE MOUSE IS PHENOMENAL....doesn't really have that "Gamer" mouse feel.,,,but the adjustable DPI is great,...(this one thing is keeping the 4th Egg...)

Cons: Would it have been so bad to include a button for the LEDs instead of using the Scroll Lock button as the LED controller. For people that use Excel this is a bad thing, cause it makes using the keyboard in excel a lot more challenging....and for those of you that would just turn the lights off.... YOU CAN"T SEE THE KEYS WITH THE LIGHTS OFF!!!....nope...not going to be able to see what they keys are with the lights off. There is no contrast behind them. So...if you like to be able to see the keys...AND use EXCEL...this may not be the keyboard for you. No Drivers to control this either...tsk tsk tsk....

Overall Review: With the lack of Lighting control on it's own key, i have a hard time recommending this keyboard to anyone. The mouse is great....but 1 button could have made this a GREAT product. I am a bit disappointed.

It works...

EVERCOOL FAN-LD6025B-EC2 60mm Blue LED Crystal Blue LED Light Case Fan
EVERCOOL FAN-LD6025B-EC2 60mm Blue LED Crystal Blue LED Light Case Fan

Pros: It works...and is quieter than i expected with the speed it operates at.

Cons: It simply didn't install itself, and was wrapped in this protective packaging that made it take longer...but it was protected...not really a con there.

Overall Review: It is a fan with blue LED....has a Molex adapter....it worked with some modifications in my power inverter (needed a 2 pin connnection)

Finally a case that didn't draw blood....

MasterCase Pro 5 Mid-Tower Case with FreeForm Modular System, Window Side Panel, Top Mesh Cover, and Watercooling Bracket by Cooler Master
MasterCase Pro 5 Mid-Tower Case with FreeForm Modular System, Window Side Panel, Top Mesh Cover, and Watercooling Bracket by Cooler Master

Pros: This case was honestly designed exceptionally well. I found it very easy to install all of my components in. The removable components were very well thought out. Compared to my old CM690 (The Original) this case is head and shoulders above it....i really liked my CM690...i like this one even more. PUSH/PULL SETUP!! I was able to mount my Corsair H100 in a Push/Pull Configuration. It is a VERY tight clearance with my GA-990FXA UD3 R5...nothing is touching...but I am within 1/4" of my RAM Tabs.

Cons: It Doesn't do dishes...and it didn't install all of my components automatically...

Overall Review: Great Mid-Tower case. Very Flexible...i look forward to seeing some of the FreeForm options that come available.

Finally got a Fan Controller I like...

GRID+ V2 Digital Fan Controller
GRID+ V2 Digital Fan Controller

Pros: Small Design, Fits easily on the back side of the Motherboard mounting plate in my CM MasterCase Pro 5. Very Strong Velcro, Will not be falling off anytime...ever. Comes with a couple Y Cables so you can hook up 8 Fans with this one device *2 Fans on 1 channel will operate at the same speed* Alternatively you can use the Y Cable as a simple extension for your Fan cord. You Don't need to be a genius to install it. Direct connects to your Motherboard via USB connector with a black cable that is pretty easy to hide in a black case. Works very well with CAM software. (Will function without it but all fans will be at 40% until you install the software). Inside the CAM software you can set up your own custom Fan Speed curves based on CPU or GPU Temps. This way your computer can stay quiet while performing office work...as your CPU/GPU get hotter your fan speeds will increase. The Software is fairly user friendly. Took me only a couple minutes to set up all of my fan profiles (I am running 7 fans) Fan Connectors are nice and snug...

Cons: Fan connectors may be too snug for some....if you are not 100% Sure you are plugging the fan into the correct port you may find it difficult to unplug the fan. Fan Connector Ports are not labeled on the device itself...really just a minor inconvenience more than a con though. No Power Curve support for MB Temps Molex is the only power Cord of option. a SATA power option would be nice for those that are trying to do away with all of the Molex connections on their modular power supply. NOT ONCE has it offered to do the dishes....

Overall Review: I had an Old Zalman fan controller in my old CM690 case that I never liked the appearance of so I modded the mesh to allow for the case to look like it was built in. With this fan controller I don't need to cut extra holes in my case to mask the ugly fan controller. It Doesn't take up the 5 1/4 drive bay and stick out of the front of my case. Don't need to reach up to my case to manually control my fan speeds... I have already recommended this product to my other Custom PC building friends...I have only had it for a couple weeks.

Caution

Never got what was in the listing. "USED-Like New" should come with the power cords. If you are going to well it as such at least list it properly. Had to go through Newegg to get anything done. They simply sell items listed on an online auction website at double the cost to the end user. The item i received came from an online auction website listing, and had an invoice for HALF of what i paid for the item. I have already told all of my friends to steer clear of this unreputable company. I hope newegg pulls them from their site. I personally will NEVER do business with them again. I tried calls, and emails with this company and despite promoses to resolve. I never heard back from them.
