Use 2, 4, & 6 TB models
Pros: Size, reliability, and work just fine in a PC.
Cons: None so far
Overall Review: I use all available sizes of WD Purple surveillance hard drives for internal PC storage drives and have never had a problem with any of them.. Seagates on the other hand are 50/50 for me so I'm sticking with what works.
Very limited for my needs..
Pros: It picks up Digital and Analog channels available through your cable provider...*
Cons: *IF you have the digital cable box in line from your cable TV provider! It Will Not pick up digital channels like a HDTV tuner on current LCDs or Plasmas will without a cable box! You Must have a Digital/HDTV cable box supplied by your cable provider to get the full effect of this TV tuner card! Also, it is a capture card for TV only! If you do video capture from DVD or VCR using programs like I do with Pinnacle Studio, Pinnacle will not detect this card as a capture device! I took a shot in the dark on this and was wrong..
Overall Review: The A/V input connector as well as the extra A/V panel is basically useless unless you plan on connecting your cable box to the card via S-video and/or RCA audio video cables.. This is what threw me off thinking this was a capture device for DVD/VCR capture as well.. No IR Blaster cable provided with this model - This will prevent you from a proper setup in Windows Media Center when selecting a cable Top Box in the setup. I had to select no top box to finish the install properly. Overall, I'm not overly thrilled not just with the limits of the TV tuner card for my needs but the fact my ATI AIW X1900 that worked flawlessly in XP is reduced to a simple dual monitor only ability now. I now have to have a separate TV tuner card for watching TV on my computer as well as a separate capture card for DVD/VCR capturing (which I have yet to find due to scathing reviews of several models I've looked at), so be advised!
Fixed my 100Mbps to 1Gbps Issues
Pros: Fixed my 100Mbps restricted download speed issues! Quick install!
Cons: None! Works like it should.
Overall Review: Still using Windows 7 Ultimate and for some reason my onboard ethernet was restricted to 100Mbps.. Installed this card and replaced my old Cat5e cable with a new one and now I'm getting 1000Mbps download capable speeds! Download driver updates just to be safe.
Getting the Speeds I'm paying for!
Pros: Replaced my outdated TP-Link TLR860 100Mbps with this model after upgrading to a 1Gbps Arris modem and I'm now getting the speeds I'm paying for.
Cons: No data lights on the front, and the power connection is in the front instead of the back like the old model I replaced.
Overall Review: Despite the cosmetic cons, this switch is worth the price and works like it's supposed to.
Massive Storage Capability
Pros: Storage Size! Largest internal storage hard drive available currently. Lots of space for backing up large files!
Cons: High Price but still cheaper than other sellers. Only 5.5TB of usable space after initializing and formatting
Overall Review: I bought this for backing up large files to my home entertainment computer. Yes it's designed for surveillance systems but it works just fine in a desktop computer environment. Already bought 2 4TB WD purples prior to buying this 6TB for my desktop PCs.
LG Reliable
Pros: Easy install, Works like it should
Cons: The Price but still the Cheapest ones out there
Overall Review: Bought 2 of these for 2 computers mostly for the sole purpose of ripping Blu-rays to MKV files for watching directly from my computer. Not really into burning Blu-Rays but have that option available with this model.
