Perfect so far!

ASUS P5E-VM DO LGA 775 Intel Q35 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
ASUS P5E-VM DO LGA 775 Intel Q35 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: This MB has all the features I was looking for: on board audio, video, and lan. And it still has floppy support, and IDE, ps/2 keyboard and mouse when many MB's have scrapped those. I have not had the power on and off problems mentioned by some of the other reviews but I leave my system ON all the time anyway.

Cons: Be careful when loading drivers from the Installation CD that comes with the board-if you leave it in the drive during reboots, it boots to a DOS program that hangs! (YMMV) So I just removed the CD between reboots during the driver installations and that solved the problem for me.

Overall Review: I also bought Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX and a Q6600 CPU and they all work great. (mild OC to 3.0 by changing the CPU from stock 266 to 333 in the bios-you have to change the main category from "standard" to "manual" to access the changes)

just what i needed!

StarTech.com ICUSB232PRO USB to Serial Adapter - Prolific PL-2303 - COM Port Retention - USB to RS232 Adapter Cable - USB Serial

Pros: new motherboards seldom provide for old 232 devices, so get this adapter and use a USB port. (I have an old, temperamental PDA/Phone and this adapter did the trick when more expensive PCIe cards failed!)

Cons: none

worked for me

Cons: none
