Great for the price

SYBA SI-PEX40094 PCI Express Low Profile Ready SATA III 2 Internal 6 Gbps Ports PCI-e Controller Card
SYBA SI-PEX40094 PCI Express Low Profile Ready SATA III 2 Internal 6 Gbps Ports PCI-e Controller Card

Pros: Plugged in and installed effortlessly. Works great plugged into a spare PCI-Express 16x slot, even though the slot is much bigger than the card needs.

Cons: Formatting drives while connected to this controller requires you to read those drives only from this controller in my experience. I format them first with the onboard SATA headers and then just change them over to this controller card as needed. Last thing I want to do is have this card go down in several years when its no longer available, and be stuck with drives I can't read data from.

Overall Review: Been running this card for a full year now without any issues at all.

It's okay

BOSS Heavy Duty Task Chair (B670-BK)
BOSS Heavy Duty Task Chair (B670-BK)

Pros: Sturdy design - sorta, fabric seems pretty breathable.

Cons: The chair arrived damaged, part of it was protruding out of the box when I got it. The plastic handle that controls the up/down motion of the air cylinder was snapped off.. also that mechanism doesn't even seem to work. Luckily it arrived at a height that works for my desk so I don't need to change it, otherwise it would be going back.

Overall Review: While not listed on specs on this site, the chair has a weight rating of 300lbs / 136kg. It is a little smaller than I was expecting. Anyone weighing close to 300lbs will probably want to find a chair that is a little bigger for comfort.

So far so good, one year later -- Update 10 Years, still going!

iStarUSA BPN-DE340SS-BLACK 3 x 5.25" to 4 x 3.5" SAS / SATA 6.0 Gb/s Trayless Hot-Swap Cage - Black Handle
iStarUSA BPN-DE340SS-BLACK 3 x 5.25" to 4 x 3.5" SAS / SATA 6.0 Gb/s Trayless Hot-Swap Cage - Black Handle

Pros: -Easy to install -I can power 4 drives with 2 SATA power connectors.. I absolutely love the internal power splitters. -My HDD temps are the same for drives inside this and drives mounted normally, so the fans are working just fine. -Hotswap works fine, I'll admit my motherboard doesn't support hotswapping but the few times I've had to do it, it's done so flawlessly. -The connections have never randomly disconnected or corrupted any data of mine, don't push the hard drive into the bay, you can feel it flex the backplane. slide the drive in til it stops gently and then use the action of the door shutting to push it the rest of the way in naturally. The door will stop the drive from going farther than it needs to which stresses the unit with the flexing it does.

Cons: 4 drives still require 4 SATA cables to be plugged into it, but that's nothing I wasn't expecting, they're pretty easy to hide. The fan is a bit loud on high, but barely noticable when you turn it down and still works fine.

Overall Review: Buy when on sale, 100% worth the sale price if you can get it in the 35-45 range. I wouldn't pay up near 100 for it. UPDATE: I take it back, this thing has been working flawlessly for over a decade now, it's absolutely worth $100...

Good memory

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-2133C10D-8GXM
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-2133C10D-8GXM

Pros: Been rocking 4 of these modules for 2 years now without issue. The color is a nice blue, really goes well with my ASUS board components

Cons: DDR3 is going to disappear eventually, will you notice the difference? unlikely at first, but you'll be forced to use DDR4 soon regardless

Overall Review: I typically use G.Skill for the price point, specs and looks, I've never been disappointed.

Great for the price

ASUS RT-N65R Dual-Band Wireless-N750 Gigabit Router
ASUS RT-N65R Dual-Band Wireless-N750 Gigabit Router

Pros: The gigabit file transfers over Ethernet is pretty wicked. I've got this router managing a switch to connect several devices together in the house and it very consistently uses 950mbit-990mbit throughput no issues. Wifi signal is decent throughout a two story townhouse.

Cons: No wall mounting holes, probably not something most people even want. Wifi was unstable until I performed a firmware update.

Overall Review: Never tried out the 5GHz band, I don't have any devices that support it yet. Router is upstairs, I've got a hardware connecting it to an unmanaged gigabit switch downstairs. The only thing I use wifi for are phones/tablets/laptops, I prefer a wired connection for my desktops, media server and torrent server. UPDATE: 12 months later it died without explanation. The power LED light comes on and then turns off, repeats over and over endlessly and does not respond to resetting it. I was able to get the firmware flasher to see it and flash it without error, but did nothing to fix the problem.

Works fine

Team 16GB microSDHC Flash Card w/ USB2.0 Micro SD Card Reader TR11A1 Model TG016G0MC28C
Team 16GB microSDHC Flash Card w/ USB2.0 Micro SD Card Reader TR11A1 Model TG016G0MC28C

Pros: Card works great Readers works great

Cons: A tad slow for an SD card The card reader is cheaply made from plastic It's half usb sized, from the picture you can see the USB leads are exposed so its an odd feeling plugging this thing in. But it does work.

Overall Review: N/A
