Works well with Noctua NH-D15 6 heatpipe with Dual NF-A15 140mm fans.
Pros: I love the animations on power on, the Power On Self Test codes for powershooting, the temperature monitoring, the wireless (works super well) and the light but effective color theme. I also love most of all that its compatible with the Noctua NH-D15 6 heatpipe with Dual NF-A15 140mm fans, as that is a very large air cooler and I needed that to help keep the I9 9900k CPU cool. The manual is very well organized and gives you much appreciated information for various drive setups as well as other useful information as where to place memory for first installations. It wasn't a chore to read, it was just neatly informative!
Cons: I didn't like the way slot one gpu clips in with the super large Noctua cooler as it is pretty much impossible to remove a large gpu like the Nvidia RTX 20 series gpus without removing the Noctua cooler. It's a tough problem to solve as the traditional pcie clips work so well in every other scenario! The only other thing is if you haven't read the manual you have to press the various function keys to find which one changes boot priority for installation from usb/cd. I'm thinking the original splash could last a second longer though it's not a big deal because it's usually F1, F2, F10, F11 or F12. And you should be reading your manual!
Overall Review: This board definitely, makes you feel like you have everything you could possibly need in 1 board. Works seamlessly from boot to installing the Operating System to Setup. Wifi picks up and works well even without the signal boost antenna! It's so good it gives you ideas! The bios seemed really comfy and everything was well organized and easy to use even if you're a first time user. You should always start your first builds with the best components. This is the i9 9900k's throne upon which it should rightly sit!
