Fast, runs warm

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ - Athlon 64 X2 Windsor Dual-Core 2.6 GHz Socket AM2 89W Processor - ADA5200CSBOX
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ - Athlon 64 X2 Windsor Dual-Core 2.6 GHz Socket AM2 89W Processor - ADA5200CSBOX

Pros: This CPU is at a great price/performance breakpoint. Windsor is near end of life as a core type, but is pin compatible with current gen CPUs. Sice the newer tech has 1/2 the cache, and hasn't matured as a process, this is still the best line to buy from AMD. Have received 4 so far, all have over clocked to at/near 3 Ghz on stock cooling.

Cons: Stock heat sink and fan are painfully weak. 42c unloaded. Over clocked to 3 Ghz it idles at 51c on stock cooling, and 1.42 Vcore.

Overall Review: 4 of following: Asus M2N32-SLI wifi AMD 5200+ 4Gb crucial Ballisitx PC6400(4-4-4-12) Sapphire Radeon 2900XT (3 of these, one was replaced by 2 2600 XTs from H.I.S., 512 MB ea.) ALL of these parts were bought based around a solid, upgradeable platform, with a minimum 2 year life expectancy. The combinations work well.
