Yes, you can hear it working

Pros: Wow, it's fast. Palpably so. Screw it in snug, or it might take off.
Cons: It sounds like a classic hard drive. It does NOT sound really loud, but you can hear it working. I can ignore the sound - it's not a big deal. My front case fan is noisier.
Overall Review: 74 gigs is plenty for me. I do email and play a couple of games. I have a second conventional 150 G SATA HD that never was more than half full. I can use that for overflow storage - assuming I ever get any. Maybe you guys should clean out some folders.
Bad luck?

Pros: Looked good, and I liked the price.
Cons: My computer refused to boot with the thing in place. I tried re-seating, different slot, etc. It seemed to be out-of-kilter: I could seat it, or screw it in, but not both.
Overall Review: Maybe an oddity.
Terrific value

Pros: Copper heat distribution (no fans), large board with logical layout, external SATA port on IO, nice software bundle and extras. Attractive black board for windowed case. Nobody ever gave me more in one package.
Cons: Onboard USB wasn't responsive at first. Problem disappeared once OS was loaded. [With the add-in and front ports enabled, I have 8 USB now.]
Overall Review: I have no idea what some of you guys are complaining about. I used this as a base for a Vista 64 computer, and everything works flawlessly. I did not have to apply a new BIOS, disable the onboard LAN, or anything else like that to install the OS. BIOS version 0903. Athlon 64 X2 5600+, Patriot eXtreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800, WD 74 G Raptor (SATA), etc.
Great bang/buck ratio

Pros: Dual-core. Everything you need in one package. Nice price. Easy install.
Cons: None noticed.
Overall Review: If you install Vista for the OS, you don't need to install the Cool n Quiet application.
Beautiful RAM!

Pros: If you have a windowed case, this RAM looks snazzy, LOL. It's a shame to hide them in a closed case. Top performer, no problems. Popped 'em into an ASUS MSN-SLI Deluxe (AM2) and just plain works great.
Cons: NONE!
Overall Review: I trust Patriot. I bought other Patriot RAM before, it always arrived beautifully packaged, and functions flawlessly.
It'll do

Pros: Matches my aluminum case, is very quiet compared to the NEC combo drive it replaced. Lightscribe is nice extra. The price is reasonable.
Cons: The Lightscribe label burn procedure takes a long time. I probably won't use it that much.
Overall Review: ASUS is a brand I trust.
