A great Nvidia Graphics Card

ASUS GeForce GT 240 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Video Card ENGT240/DI/1GD3/A
ASUS GeForce GT 240 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Video Card ENGT240/DI/1GD3/A

Pros: My recently built unit came with AMD/ATI chips from ASUS but the performance of the ATI Radeon 4200 did not provide enough torgue for Creative Suite 3 and specially Photoshop this GT240 took my 64bit Windows 7 Ultimate system from a moderate 4.4 to a burning 6.6. . . I have a 7.4 on ram 6.6 on 3 others and 5.9on the drive this has made for a very sweet machine!

Cons: none

Overall Review: Excellent cooling with a solid sink and a nice size fan. AVOID at all cost! One PC ONLY!

Symantec Norton Ghost 15.0 - 1 PC
Symantec Norton Ghost 15.0 - 1 PC

Pros: Have not opened the box because I am considering shipping it back to NewEgg for a refund so I can't say if it works or not! I don't really care right now.

Cons: I've used many of Peter Norton's software products for decades and always appreciated the fact that Norton realized that many of us have a desktop and laptop to do our daily computing. His license (once upon a time before Symantec) always permitted the buyer to use the software on multiple units BUT NOW IT IS "ONE PC ONLY!!!" Not "one user" as listed on this page so if you are like me and have two desktops and a laptop this is not the software you want to purchase weather it performs as advertised or not! I will not buy three copies to please the bean counters at Symantec! NEWEGG YOU NEED TO CORRECT THIS LISTING AS ONE INSTALL PERIOD!

Overall Review: I doubt if Peter Norton even has control of his products name today? Between my experience with Microsoft and Symantec this week, I am about to purchase Linux 64 bit OS and get these greedy corporations out of my life! And yes I know that caps are "screaming" because that is exactly what I feel like doing!

Great Board but issues remain!

ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 AM3 AMD 890GX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 AM3 AMD 890GX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: Great Board, Turbo configured my AMD Phenom II X2 3.1GHz to 3.6 and it is stable as all get out! It tried to unlock the other cores but I did not expect it to be able to. The system is quiet and smooth operating.

Cons: Three Issues: 1. The Open Box turned out to be a factory refurbish item and NewEgg failed IMHO to inform me as such. 2. I believe NewEgg needs to state if an item is Refurb or just an Open Box returned item. I would most likely still buy the item but deserve to know what I am purchasing. Since the box was taped seal how can NewEgg state it checked the item for basic functionality. This is an inherent marketing conflict of interest and a negative towards the buyer who has the right to expect NewEgg to do what it states. 3. ASUS selling a factory refurbish item should not have half (4) items missing from the box. I can accept that in an open box but a factory refurbished should be complete. Missing: a. Q-shield b.SATAIII cables c.VGA switch card d.Q-connector Note: I can work around all the missing items but it is a nuisance the factory should have made right before releasing for sale.

Overall Review: The board is great, SATA III is very quick and the on board video is fairly decent.

A great little modem!

Rosewill RNX-56USB - Modem - Conexant Hardware-Based 56Kbps USB (Plug & Play) V.92 Data / Fax / TAM – Windows 7 Ready
Rosewill RNX-56USB - Modem - Conexant Hardware-Based 56Kbps USB (Plug & Play) V.92 Data / Fax / TAM – Windows 7 Ready

Pros: Window 7/64bit on my Dell Inpiron to my Gaming Tower Case recognizes and self configures this external USB modem to start working immediately. It obtains quick handshakes and maintains excellent bit rates. I believe it downloads quicker and more reliably than my old modem does.

Cons: none

Overall Review: If you're like me and need to use a 56K modem then I highly recommend this one for use with Windows 7 machines. I should state that all my systems are 64 bit OS.

Hurray for ASUS Support!

ASUS VH242H Black 23.6" 5ms HDMI Full 1080P Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 ASCR 20000:1 (1000:1) W/Speakers
ASUS VH242H Black 23.6" 5ms HDMI Full 1080P Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 ASCR 20000:1 (1000:1) W/Speakers

Pros: Excellent monitor! I have a pair of them for my Photoshop work station and they just make life a pleasant breeze to work with color imagery. Today after three months of daily use it did not want to power up. So I tried a new power cord and a different power source to confirm that the monitor actually has a problem. Called ASUS after first filling out the online contact form. In minutes I had my RMA emailed to my inbox and they are even sending me a prepaid FEDEX ground shipping label to return this unit to them! It will come tomorrow direct from the FEDEX folks to my email box as well. Tech Support with ASUS was outstanding and very helpful. It is a shame this unit failed but very rewarding to have such a professional quality tech support ready to assist. I'm not upset after all electronics are doomed to fail sometime. . . as long as it is under warranty there is nothing to worry about what-so-ever!

Cons: None really. Just a bit of time without my dual display work system.

Overall Review: ASUS deserves five eggs for their outstanding service and professional help. NewEgg always gets five eggs for their service and it's nice that others also work to help the customer.

Excellent Performance!

EVGA 01G-P3-1452-TR GeForce GTS 450 (Fermi) Superclocked 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
EVGA 01G-P3-1452-TR GeForce GTS 450 (Fermi) Superclocked 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Pros: Everything! This is in my SLI system and has proven to be the most powerful system I've ever built. Crysis is magnificent to play on this system One of these is extremely powerful for anyones system but if your system can handle it try a SLI configuration and be amazed at the performance. Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom both run at 64bit and these cards present all the raw horsepower to make the graphics pop onto the screen with no delays. Give a command and it is on the screen can't do better than that!

Cons: Heat, but I think any SLI setup must be managed to handle the heat factors. Once I placed the whole setup into an ANTEC 900 case the heat factor was resolved.

Overall Review: If you are sitting on the fence thinking about purchasing one of these stop waiting these perform brilliantly!
