Great switch
Pros: Does everything they say it does. Haven't had a single performance problem in the 8 months of constant up-time.
Cons: Didn't come with mounting screws for a rack.
Overall Review: I got this switch because my router only had 3 LAN ports on it and I picked up 2 new computers and a dual LAN server. I've had everything running on it without issue since I got it. It fit perfectly in my server rack. The only thing I was dissappointed with is that it didn't come with rack mounting hardware. I guess in a business environment you would probably buy a large package of cage nuts and screws, but I didn't want to drop the money on that for this one item. Not removing an egg because I think my situation is not the norm.
Fast and slim.
Pros: - Extremely fast. - Fits alongside other USB plugs.
Cons: - Needlessly complex slide mechanism.
Overall Review: A trusted review site said that this drive was the fastest USB 3.0 flash drive on the market. I don't know if it is, but it's definitely as fast as they said it would be. The only thing I don't like about the drive is the design of the slide mechanism. The slider has some kind of assist component on it rather than being a direct connection to the internal component. I feel like this makes it more prone to mechanical failure, but so far it has been fine. Not enough to deduct an egg.
Favorite case I've worked with
Pros: 1. SO MUCH SPACE! Seriously though, there is a lot of space, and a lot of cable management options for this case. You can also remove the external drive cage, and any unused SSD cages for even more space. 2. The hot-swap drive bays are great for my 3.5" storage HDDs. 3. Installing my radiator was super easy. 4. The front panel lights are subtle compared to a lot of other cases I've worked on.
Cons: 1. Lacking filters. I'm okay with the fact that it comes stock with just one filter, but for a high airflow case I would expect Corsair to at least make/sell their own filters for it. Instead they direct you to a third party vendor, and the reviews on those filters leave the impression that they're worse than the one that came with it. 2. The adjustable PSU support bracket didn't fit properly with my PSU, and it got in the way of one of the hot-swappable cable sets.
Overall Review: At the time of this review I've got two 3.5 HDDs, 1 SSD, my graphics card, and a Corsair H100i in this case. I plan on adding another graphics card and I don't forsee any space issues with that. I took one egg off because of the lack of additional OEM filters. The one included on the front panel is a good balance of airflow and filtration. I think Corsair could make a better product than the third party filters out there. To get around the lack of filters, and to help with incrased case pressure, I put clear packing tape over the various extra vent holes on the inside. I still have unfiltered air coming into the radiator and PSU, and some coming in through the PCI slot shields. Covering up what I did definitely helped create a positive pressure which is helping somewhat with the unfiltered holes. That issue aside I strongly recommend this case to anyone who has the room for it. Is it wider than a case needs to be? Definitely, but it looks really nice sitting next to my desk regardless.
Heavy Duty!
Pros: The shelf is very sturdy and fit perfectly in my server rack. The screws that came with it for mounting are large and have a tapered metal washer/sleeve and a nylon washer. It just looks tough sitting on the rack. The design allows you to have a lipped front/back if you want, or you can mount it the other way to have it flush.
Cons: None
Overall Review: I have it holding a NAS drive, my modem, and my consumer router. I used the slots in the shelf as a cable tie point for my velcro straps. I'm very satisfied with this product and would buy it again should I need more shelf space.
Solid keyboard
Pros: 1. No spongy or soft keys. 2. Decent range of brightness on the backlights. 3. Easy to clean the body. 4. Software is easy to use and has caused no issues so far. 5. Media keys work without the software running.
Cons: 1. The wide and stylized design of the body is totally unnecessary. It adds almost two whole inches of width at the widest part. 2. Didn't come with black WASD and arrow keys. 3. Software has to be running for macro keys to work. 4. Lock lights do not dim with the rest of the backlighting, and they're quite bright by comparison. 5. Cable is super thick and stiff.
Overall Review: I got this keyboard to use in my job as a software developer. I use the macro keys all the time at work and they are a big help. The silver keys are a bit annoying since I'm not gaming, and wouldn't want them even if I was. The construction on this item is excellent and the only thing that feels even remotely flimsy is the palm rest. The media keys feel very solid for being rubber dome keys, and the volume knob has an excellent level of resistance to it. I hope it doesn't smooth out too quickly. My two biggest complaints are the extra wide footprint, and the need for the software to use the macros. Logitech didn't make the best use of space on this product when they designed it, but I made sure I knew how big it was before I ordered. The software issue seems to be inescapable no matter what brand you go with though. Even the keyboards with on-board memory and the ARM processors/display drivers seem to need the software running on the machine for macros and lighting to work. Thankfully the software isn't very resource intensive, and has not shown any signs of problems since I started using it. Plus if I'm not using the macro keys I can just shut it down.
Cable is as cable does
Pros: 1. High quality wrap on the wires. 2. Length is as advertised. 3. Both plugs are sized perfectly.
Cons: I got two of these cables. One of them is perfect. The other one has only one problem where the heat shrink wasn't fully seated into the plug, so the pins in that plug are loose. COuld have happened in packaging/shipping, but definitely came out of the box like that. That's the only reason I took an egg off.
Overall Review: One of these cables feeds a 4-pin Y splitter, so I had to cut out the side of one of the female plugs. With a sharp blade the plastic cut like butter and was very easy to clean up/smooth down. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase.
