Only for Shuttle systems!

Shuttle PC9-WH Dual White USB 2.0 port expansion kit
Shuttle PC9-WH Dual White USB 2.0 port expansion kit

Pros: USB ports in an otherwise-useless parallel-port opening is a great idea.

Cons: Proprietary motherboard connectors! Take a careful look at picture #2 there.

Overall Review: I should've bought the "black" version of this, which has a standard 5x2 USB header connector. So I will buy one later.... and maybe someday I will cut off the proprietary connectors from this "white" version and crimp on the standard USB-header connector.

KVM compatible!

Rosewill Helios RK-9200BR Dual LED Illuminated Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch
Rosewill Helios RK-9200BR Dual LED Illuminated Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Brown Switch

Pros: After trying several others, this is the only mechanical red-LED keyboard I've found that works with my IOGear KVM switch (model GCS1104). The Brown switches give solid and comfortable key action and are quiet but not silent. The detachable cable is a nice touch that let me substitute a shorter cable instead of having to bundle up a fixed cable.

Cons: Num- / Caps- / Scroll-lock lights are always blue no matter what colors you make the other keys. It would be nice if they blended in. And as is widely mentioned already, this keyboard has no memory and you have to redo all your color / brightness settings every time it powers on. Since mine is always kept powered on by the KVM switch, regardless of the computers' power state, this doesn't much affect me.

Overall Review: The lighting in my Z-row, Alt keys, and spacebar went dim in the past few days. Looks like I may have to make use of the one-year warranty period. Disappointing, but at least there IS a one-year warranty period.

Good for everything but SecureBoot

MSI GeForce GTX 650 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 Graphics Card N650-MD1GD5/OC
MSI GeForce GTX 650 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 Graphics Card N650-MD1GD5/OC

Pros: Good performance for the price. Quiet fan. Working fine in Windows 8.1 with no hassles. One output connection of each major kind, so typically no adapters needed. MSI's "Live Update" software would download and install new firmware for the card, if there were any.

Cons: Doesn't exhaust all out the rear bracket. Doesn't support Windows 8 "SecureBoot"; how about some updated firmware, MSI?

Overall Review: Using this card on an MSI H77MA-G43 motherboard.

Powerful, indeed

5MW Green Astronomy Powerful Laser Pointer Pen
5MW Green Astronomy Powerful Laser Pointer Pen

Pros: Strong, vivid laser spot. On a reflective surface it can be almost dazzling. Uses ordinary AAAs instead of expensive and short-lived watch batteries.

Cons: A bit bulky, but that's an okay tradeoff for using AAAs.

Overall Review: Cats are notorious for chasing red laser-pointer dots. Interestingly, my mother's cat was totally indifferent to this green laser dot, but kept trying to sniff and paw at the beam. Fortunately I bought it to use as an actual pointer and not as a cat toy.

Working fine

SilverStone ST60F 600 W ATX 12V 2.01 / EPS 12V SLI Ready Active PFC Power Supply
SilverStone ST60F 600 W ATX 12V 2.01 / EPS 12V SLI Ready Active PFC Power Supply

Pros: Voltages are stable. Cabling is plentiful. Modular cables keep the clutter down. The black mounting screws are a nice touch.

Cons: The modular cabling isn't as modular as it could be, i.e. this has all six SATA power connectors on one harness. And maybe I got one with a bad fan, or maybe I'm spoiled by the Antec that this replaced, but it's not quiet.

Overall Review: I replaced the fan with a 120mm SilenX and the power-supply noise is unnoticeable again.
