Great kit at a great price.6/6/2020 4:42:05 PM

Pros: This kit has (nearly) everything you're going to need/want for most Raspberry Pi projects, including a desktop PC. - 4 GigaBytes of RAM is just awesome for such a tiny thing, and it really shows in the performance of this machine. It really adds to the value, and I recommend it over the rest. - The new RPi-4 has 2 micro-HDMI video outputs (both at 4k!) that require an adapter to fit a normal size cord, and such an adapter is not very common, so I'm very glad to have it included. Also, the first (left-most) does proper digital audio output. - A proper USB-C power supply with an on/off switch is very important since the Pi doesn't have a switch built-in, and most USB-C chargers will work but don't have a switch. I believe this one is the "official" Raspberry Pi unit, and that matters to me. - Having a case is important so that you're not handling the thing with fingers while it's running, and since it's so small, it does tend to get moved around a bit. - Heat-sinks are also a great idea since you may well do some "serious" computing on this powerful machine, and they don't make noise or wear out like fans, although a little fan isn't a bad idea either (other Vilros kits have them). These have peel-and-stick adhesive, making installation a snap. - The quality of all these components is top-notch, and I expect them to last a good long time.

Cons: This particular kit doesn't include an SD card, which is absolutely required by the RPi-4, unlike the RPi-3B+ which can boot directly to an external drive, although the 4 should be getting a firmware upgrade to allow that "soon".

Overall Review: This review is almost an exact copy of another kit review I did previously, but I decided on this kit for a different application. The price is great, the components are great, and the overall result is exactly what I needed. I built this for my Dad as a desktop PC. If you're new to the Raspberry Pi or not, this is the proper way to start. And, no, I'm not being paid or otherwise influenced for this review, I just genuinely love the Raspberry Pi products and the way Vilros puts it all together.

A great bargain for a very useful product.6/4/2020 3:08:58 PM

Pros: - Very inexpensive. - Fast USB 3 interface. - Easy drive insertion and removal. - Power and activity lights right in front.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: This docking station is exactly as described, and exactly what I needed. The price makes it an excellent value, and I highly recommend it. So much so that I bought 2 and I use them every day.

Good product at a good price.5/25/2020 7:27:03 PM

Pros: The sound quality is good, as is the comfort, and the price is/was right.

Overall Review: I like cheap stuff that does the job, and these headphones are that.

Great speed at a great price.5/12/2020 8:58:20 AM

Pros: Super fast with zero noise.

Overall Review: It does what it says. I've purchased 2 at different times, both at a great low price. I think it's the best SATA SDD deal on NewEgg.

Update to previous review.8/21/2015 2:46:53 PM

Pros: Cheap with lots of great features.

Cons: Possibly none - see below. I returned the item twice, and chose a refund the second time, but my issue may have actually been with the 2 Logisys power supplies purchased at the same time, both of which were confirmed (100%) defective (1-failed bench test, 2-broken switch).

Overall Review: PC trouble-shooting is mostly a process of elimination. If 2 new power supplies won't power up a motherboard, one doesn't usually assume both supplies are dead - mobos are more likely to fail than pwr splys. Besides that, the behavior of powering down randomly seemed more likely the mobo than the pwr sply, in my experience. I gave this review 4 eggs to counter my previous negative one.

2 dead ones in a row.8/21/2015 2:20:06 PM

Pros: Good value for the price. Large 120mm fan.

Cons: I bought 2 of these, and BOTH of them are confirmed defective. Power switch will not stay off, but springs back to the on position. Units randomly shut down and will not power back up until the power cord is unplugged and re-plugged.

Overall Review: Very unusual to get 2 bad items in one batch. I guess quality control at the factory was having a bad day. I opted for a full refund instead of trying a 3rd one.

Great value.8/3/2015 4:30:25 PM

Pros: Great price for good quality. Exactly as advertised - almost.

Cons: It's not a problem for me, but they are so lightweight, they allow the drive to vibrate in the case slightly. Can be a bit noisy.

Overall Review: All in all a very good buy. I recommend them for any external drive use. They aren't quite tool-free - in that they require (and come with) a small phillips screw driver.

Finally got it late, terrible service.3/30/2014 2:35:24 PM

Pros: Cheap price.

Cons: Cheap junk.

Overall Review: MobileWorld, aka BangGood, has no English speaking support. The "tracking number" was useless and never worked. MobileWorld, aka BangGood, completely ignored my questions, but still begged for a positive review, while attempting to sell more junk, TWICE, all in barely intelligible, punctuation-free pigeon-English. I finally got the items, but very late. Never again.

DON'T BUY ASUS.11/9/2010 7:40:08 PM

Pros: Great netbook (except that it died 31 days after it arrived). I love how small and powerful it is and the multi touch screen is very cool (except that it won't calibrate properly since it came back from repair). Oh, and they haven't come to my home and robbed me at gunpoint yet...

Cons: ASUS support is worse than useless. The robot-like phone rep speaks terrible Engrish, WAY too fast, & will simply hang up if you complain. After 1 hang-up, I spent 35 mins on hold to get the same guy (not kidding!). And now that I've asked for a supervisor and been on hold for another 10 mins, guess what? Yep, another hang up. Really? I mean... REALLY?!

Overall Review: I bought a different model that is no longer available on New Egg, but I felt the need to post this where it will be seen. To me (20 yr PC tech), a PC is a PC, and warranty support counts for a lot. Things break and need to be fixed, but when the whole process is like pulling teeth and zero respect is shown, where's the value? Life is way too short, buy a Dell.

Defective!3/24/2010 3:19:17 PM

Pros: Burned a couple of CDs just fine.

Cons: Will not read any DVDs. Throws random read and I/O errors. Since NewEgg does not pay for return shipping on defective items, I'm really quite upset.

Overall Review: I may be mistaken, but it seems that NewEgg has more issues with dead out-of-the-box items than any other retailer that I've ever bought from. Lately, it seems like about 25% of everything I buy has something wrong with it. I'm probably just mad about this one, but there have definitely been more returns to NewEgg than all of my other suppliers combined.

Why no Range info?3/26/2009 7:10:11 AM

Pros: Low price

Cons: No range information from here or the manufacturer. Why not? Range is very important for wireless devices.

Overall Review: Is the range a secret because it is very low?

Range = 6 Feet per MSFT3/26/2009 6:50:46 AM

Pros: Low price.

Cons: You won't find it in any of the descriptions or specifications here, but the range is only 6 feet, maximum with perfect line of sight according to Microsoft. NewEgg and MS seem to be hiding the Range info.

Great value!3/4/2008 12:45:28 PM

Pros: Tons of RAM + Great Chipset = Great Performance. Great Performance + Super-Low Price = Killer Deal! I love it! Super fast. Looks great. Dirt cheap.

Cons: This page said this card has HDTV outputs, so I bought it. It does NOT have HDTV outputs and I'm really bummin' about that cuz I wanna shoot stuff on my bigscreen in High Def.

Overall Review: The "PowerColor" (whoever they are) website is down as of this writing, so there is no help if you have questions other than our friends here at NewEgg.
