Best investment to date..
Pros: Light weight. Up-gradable. Can handle more of a load than I expected. The video card is the weakest link, and isn't all that bad. Windows 7, although maybe not perfect is extremely usable and functional on this size screen. Use widgets, and its incredibly effective. WEI scores: 6.6 on the processor, 7.1 memory, 4.9 graphics aero, 5.9 3D business and gaming, 5.9 disk transfer rate.
Cons: Wacom driver. There is a glitch that was claimed to have been fixed with the latest update, and although it happens less frequently, the wacom driver starts to click randomly, then repetitively on the top right-hand side of the screen. Opening the task manager and returning to windows seems to kick it out of its glitch when it does happen. Only 5.9 on disk transfer rate. The screen can really strain your eyes when used for long periods of time and can appear blurry.
Overall Review: I upgraded to 4gb Gskill ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231483 , and the 120gb OCZ Nocti http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227748 . Runs very well. Before the hdd upgrade, bare installation of windows, ms office 07 pro was almost 28gb. And 32gb is only 30gbs after formatting. Using an 32gb sdhc card helped, but once the windows updates started downloading, 2gb was getting really full really fast. Despite the wacom driver and the eye strain, this is the perfect mobile tablet. If you are just looking to have a windows tablet, there are plenty that are cheaper, but if you plan to do anything other than go online from time to time, this is the tablet with the processor you need.
Extreme Caution!
Pros: What it should do. Has a power switch
Cons: Upon plugging in the power supply to my older IDE hdd, I was greeted with the aroma of frying electronics, then some black smoke. All within 3-5 seconds of flipping the on switch.
Overall Review: Moral - check the voltage before you use the unit. Would have saved the HDD. Just seems like the most unnecessary step. So much for quality control.
Outstanding cooler
Pros: The tubes are indeed very flexible allowing mounting of the cooler in any orientation. With care, any tube routing can be accomplished, just orientate with the natural flex of the tube
Cons: No Cons. Only possible recommendation for this specific model..perhaps the light illuminating through the glass water pipe. That would be a nice touch.
Overall Review: The thermal paste looked like it was evenly applied at the factory ready for install and seemed to be pretty standard but was easily removed for some silver thermal paste application. The cooler works well and the fans move plenty of air. AM4 mount included.
Great case with plenty of expansion needs
Pros: This case is huge! There is plenty of room on the inside for an e-atx mobo, routing for wires, and hdd space, all while fitting in a Deepcool 240ex and a water cooled vega 64...And there is still room! The top fan space allows for a 240mm radiator and full sized fans without worry hitting the ram, cpu, or mobo top when installed. It can also fit a slim 280mm radiator.
Cons: My best effort only gave me the most mild of mild cons.. that is the relatively short front fan wires, you can tell they were designed specifically for the 3-fan controller that was included. Some may say that a window side would be nice, but personally, I prefer the quiet! (and have a nice reveal moment when i feel like showcasing!
Overall Review: Had an old NZXT case that had room for all of the above without the radiators. When the air cooler just didn't dut it for cooling on the Ryzen 1700x, water cooling demanded that I get a new case and after months of agony finding one as spacious, with 4 5.25" bays, Sold! In general, temps are about 2 degrees lower from the enhanced airflow. (So many vents with quiet fans) I can't recommend a better large case solution for watercoolng.
Great hardware, but the hype left me wanting more.
Pros: Its a fast card. Stock speed performance will be about equal to or just surpass a 1080. The water hoses are long, longer than the fury-x's hoses replaced. The frame rates on this card are very stable and do not typically jump wildly creating smooth and consistent results.
Cons: This card, when under full load, will replace a space heater for a small room. The heat this card exhausts is very noticeable. I don't have any coil whine, but the fan is noticeable at about 2400rpm. (default stock max is about 2600rpm.) Still, mine is set at 2800rpm and it pretty much blends with the case fan noise and is not noticeable while tucked under a desk and immersed in a title.
Overall Review: I've have a weird Wattman issue running on the AsRock X370 Taichi paired with a mildly oc'd 1700x where any voltage changes are accepted once per boot. This makes it difficult to tweak and requires a reboot before the new settings are accepted. But after figuring that out, the card overclocks well at about 1850mhz; stable at about 67 degrees max under benchmark loads.
Currently, the best memory on the AM4 platform
Pros: Was recognized on an AsRock Taichi with proper latency and speed once XMP profile was enabled.
Cons: absolutely none
Overall Review: Runs very fast and stable. Ram also runs cool.
Great!
The item was packaged well. Shipping was fast.
