Cool and Quiet

ZALMAN CNPS9900ALED 120mm 2 Ball Low-noise Blue LED CPU Cooler
ZALMAN CNPS9900ALED 120mm 2 Ball Low-noise Blue LED CPU Cooler

Pros: Definitely keeps things cool. Just by looking at it and handling it one can tell it’s very well put together. The performance is amazing, it is near silent, it looks great and it’s easy to install. As stated by Zalman on the products webpage, the shroud is only there for the protection of the fins on the cooler when in transit. By taking off the shroud it dropped the temperature 2-4 degrees and it does just that. It really drops it 5 degrees when the cpu is at idle and drops it 2-3 degrees under load. For me, I am getting the following results. At idle around 26c on / stock was 38c, under load around 41c on / stock was 59c. These temperatures are for a i7 940 not OC.

Cons: None, If you don't do the usual checking of the space inside the case to make sure you have clearance, then sorry for you. Buy another computer case that fits. It will be worth it in the end.

Overall Review: I'm very happy with this cooler. The stock coolers are a joke, and I've had multiple problems in the past with aftermarket coolers not fitting correctly. This was a success in every way possible; I would absolutely buy another one for my next air cooled system. Excellent Monitor

HP 25" TN Full HD 1080p LCD Monitor 3ms(GTG) 1920 x 1080 D-Sub, DVI, HDMI 2509m

Pros: This monitor will really surprise you, excellent color reproduction. Words can't really describe this monitor, you just have to see it to believe it. Works great for games or movies, the response time is fast enough I haven't noticed any blurring or other artifacts.

Cons: None

Overall Review: At first I thought that it was too big, but after playing Black Ops on it for a couple hours I was completely sold.

Great Monitor

HP LE1911 Silver 19" 5ms LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 1000:1
HP LE1911 Silver 19" 5ms LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 1000:1

Pros: Great for business applications and those who DON'T want a wide screen. Good contrast and brightness. Seems well built. No dead pixels or any other issues. Worked perfect with Win7 64, Vista32 and XP. It was inexpensive.

Cons: Not the highest resolution out there but I did not want to go higher than 1280x1024 which is its native resolution. It also is not a wide screen montior but I did not want a wide screen, just a standard one. For these reasons this monitor was perfect for me.

Overall Review: If you need a really good, relatively low priced monitor I'd highly recommend this one.

Great USB KVM Switch

IOGEAR GCS632U 2-Port KVM Switch with built-in KVM Cables and Audio Support (US packaging version)
IOGEAR GCS632U 2-Port KVM Switch with built-in KVM Cables and Audio Support (US packaging version)

Pros: Very simple setup, just connect the cables and you are set. Fast, seamless trasition between the two computers I have set up at work, both running XP.

Cons: None, other than having cables everywhere! That's expected with a KVM, however. Bundled them up with velcro and shoved it all under the desk.

Overall Review: I am very happy with this product. I have a PS2 keyboard, with a USB adaptor and it works perfectly. There is ZERO wait time when switching between the two PC's. I would definitley recommend this device to others.

Best low-profile card not requiring 6-pin from PSU

SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4650 512MB GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Low Profile Ready Video Card 100253HDMI
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4650 512MB GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Low Profile Ready Video Card 100253HDMI

Pros: This card is the most powerful low-profile card I have seen not needing a PCIe power pin. It is highly comparable to the 9600GT. I have a HP Pavilion Slimline with on-board graphics, that didn't cut it. Here is what it did for the Windows 7 score. My Windows 7 scores with the on-board graphics were: Graphics 3.4 Gaming graphics 3.3 Now with the 4650 video card they are: Graphics 5.4 Gaming graphics 6.4

Cons: None, haven't noticed a change in heat or noise.

Overall Review: Massive increase from the stock chipset, for only $65. Works with Windows 7 right out of the box, it picked up the card without an issues. Fit perfectly into my HP Slimline and I have no problems running this from my 220w power supply.

Excellent LCD Monitor

HP 19" Active Matrix, TFT LCD SXGA LCD Monitor with USB2.0 ports & Height & Pivot Adjustments 6ms(GTG) 1280 x 1024 DVI LP1965
HP 19" Active Matrix, TFT LCD SXGA LCD Monitor with USB2.0 ports & Height & Pivot Adjustments 6ms(GTG) 1280 x 1024 DVI LP1965

Pros: Absolutely fantastic color, good greys and great brightness. The menu is easy to use and well laid-out for all common features. No dead/stuck/bright pixels to be found. This monitor stood out for me. I'm very happy! The provided USB ports and the video cables that are provided (both digital and analog) are a nice touch.

Cons: It cost a little more than other companies 19" non-widescreens and even more than similar sized widescreens, but it was well worth the extra money.

Overall Review: I recommend this monitor for people who don't want or like widescreen and don't want to spend $1000 for a 'super professional quality' monitor. The color reproduction is noticeably better than every other LCD monitor I've seen.
