Great.... for my needs

Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-955Q (1191) TV Tuner Stick / Hybrid Video Recorder with Remote Control
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-955Q (1191) TV Tuner Stick / Hybrid Video Recorder with Remote Control

Pros: Clear QAM HD, Clear QAM HD, Clear QAM HD is the new name of the game. Free unencrypted HD channels through your regular cable line with no HD receiver needed and this is defintately the best QAM USB tuner on the market. Incredibly easy to install and use. Tested on my Vista box, XP labtop, and even with Mythbuntu linux and works great. Especially with the QAM signal which is why I bought it in the first place.

Cons: The actual WinTV application that comes with it is a little clumsey to use and slow to change channels. Very hard to set up and map QAM channels to the program guide. But I was planning on using it with the beyond TV software anyway which works with this tuner 100% perfect. If not willing to purchase BeyondTV $99, media portal is a free media center software that also supports QAM tuners and works with this tuner great as well. Also keep in mind that with the QAM signal, if you are using old cable splitters and their frequency range is less than the 5 to 1100MHz range than the splitter will actually block the QAM signal. I learned this the hard way. But went out and bought a 4-way digital splitter range 5 to 2300MHz for nine dollars and QAM channels all come in perfect. And last thing, the QAM signals will NOT work in Windows media center XP or Vista but the NTSC and ATSC (over the air HD) signals will. But like I said, I use Beyond TV for the QAM anyway.

Overall Review: I am very impressed. Other than the splitter problem, everything setup and worked smoothly. I have never had problems with hauppauge products and would recommend this one to anyone.

Great for QAM signal, sucks for everything else

Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1265 (1196) Hybrid TV Tuner /Video Recorder
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1265 (1196) Hybrid TV Tuner /Video Recorder

Pros: I was a little leary of buying this tuner card after reading the reviews but I thought I would give it a shot. Since I use BeyondTV recording software, it was either buy this supported HVR-1250 card or the hauppauge HVR-1800 card which is double the price. This card is apparently very sensitive on all signal options, especially the analog cable and OTA (over the air) but the QAM-HD signal through the cable line comes in great, after a few tweaks.

Cons: I am pretty sure a cable amplifier will help the analog cable signal a bit but I had none to test with. The OTA signal did not work at all, even though I have a different Pinnacle USB tuner card in the same room that picks up HD over the air channels with no issues. I was only able to get the QAM-HD signal to work after re-cutting the cable cord to make it as short as possible and it went from only finding 17 QAM channels to 93 QAM channels. So the longer cable caused the signal to be too weak. And again, a longer cable with a digital HD supported cable amplifier would have probably fixed that issue without shortening the cable cord.

Overall Review: For some reason, this card is WAY too sensitive and does not pick up any of the signals too well but I think the QAM-HD signals work pretty well as long as you use really short cable or cable amplifier.

Just as advertised, but shipping time took a long while

Overall Review: I had a few old power supplies I needed to test and this was perfect for them. It worked as advertised and I like the light up toggle switch but the shipping time was much longer than expected.

Almost the best android tablet on the market

MOTOROLA XOOM with Wi-Fi NVIDIA Tegra 2 1.00GHz 1GB DDR2 Memory 10.1" 1280 x 800 Tablet Android 3.1 (Honeycomb)
MOTOROLA XOOM with Wi-Fi NVIDIA Tegra 2 1.00GHz 1GB DDR2 Memory 10.1" 1280 x 800 Tablet Android 3.1 (Honeycomb)

Pros: This is a powerful android tablet and is very very customizable once you root it. Me personally, I have it rooted with custom tiamet kernel and overclocked CPU to 1.6ghz. Love the 32gb of internal storage and the tegra based games can almost match console games but there are a few cons that make it not number 1

Cons: When I first got it, the sd card slot did not work and it was AS DESIGNED. It was a limitation in the software. Rooting it made it work. They did come out with an OTA update to access sd card but it is NOT handled correctly. The internal storage folder is called SDCARD and the sdcard storage folder is called EXTERNAL1. What kind of backwords logic is that ? Also I could not get usb mass storage support unless its rooted (to plug in usb hard drives and flash drives). My nephew's $65 android tablet has proper sdcard and usb mass storage support out of the box without any need of rooting it. Major con was the original price of $600... Its good to see the price coming down but in all honesty, with all the new dual core android tablet coming out at $400 or less, the xoom should match that or in all honestly be less than that since its been out as long as it has.

Overall Review: Other than those few cons, this is still an amazing tablet and even more powerful with it rooted.

Absolutely great for android tablets

PNY 16GB microSDHC Flash Card for Tablet PCs Model P-SDU16G10TEFM1
PNY 16GB microSDHC Flash Card for Tablet PCs Model P-SDU16G10TEFM1

Pros: I bought this for my rooted xoom android tablet and the speed is just great. Can not tell the difference between the internal memory speed and the speed read/writing to this card. Tested at 17mb/s to 19mb/s speed using h2testw utility. So far no signs of data loss or corruption.

Cons: None at all.

Overall Review: I was very weary of buying a pny micro sdcard. I usually only buy sandisk or Kingston but took a risk with the pny and I am glad I did. And yes I will be buying the 32gb version of the pny class 10 micro sdcard as soon as Newegg gets it back in stock for my HTC evo 4g android phone.

Would have been a great deal except for...

AMD Athlon II X4 630 - Athlon II X4 Propus Quad-Core 2.8 GHz Socket AM3 95W Desktop Processor - ADX630WFK42GM
AMD Athlon II X4 630 - Athlon II X4 Propus Quad-Core 2.8 GHz Socket AM3 95W Desktop Processor - ADX630WFK42GM

Pros: Great CPU. Already had one from 8 months ago for my media center PC and decided to upgrade my Windows 2008 server once I saw the low OEM price. Passed all my diag tests and its also great to overclock.

Cons: Only one really big CON is one of the pins on the CPU was bent. I first noticed when it would not insert flat into the MB cpu socket. Luckily I did not force it down and on inspection with a flashlight, I see one of the pins was slightly bent. Using a toothpick, I was able to get it straightened out, inserted CPU and all is well.

Overall Review: I buy alot of OEM products and never had an issue like this before, right out of the packaging. Luckily I was able to fix it myself this time.
