Great for video, not Dolby Digital audio
Pros: Works perfectly for 1080p video and uncompressed audio.
Cons: Does not work for Dolby Digital or other compressed surround sound/ audio.
Overall Review: It took me about 2 years of ownership before I saw that these cables (purchased 3) did not transmit Dolby Digital surround sound signal. I previously just ran my Xbox & DVD player directly to the receiver w/ optical cable, but just got a new TV that accepted multiple HDMI and had an optical output, w/ a dolby decoder. For compressed audio (like Dolby) you need HDMI version 1.3 or later. Currently version 1.4 is required for 3-D video signal. Hope this helps!
