Performance per dollar sweet spot

EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti XC GAMING Video Card, 08G-P5-3663-KL, 8GB GDDR6, Metal Backplate, LHR
EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti XC GAMING Video Card, 08G-P5-3663-KL, 8GB GDDR6, Metal Backplate, LHR

Pros: This card is an absolute beast. Upgraded from an RTX 2060 and couldn't be happier. I have it paired with a 5600X and I am seeing a substantial performance uplift in titles like RDR2 and Assassins Creed Odyssey. Almost twice the performance. I won the shuffle and was able to purchase this card at MSRP. Do not give in to scalpers, no matter how desperate you are! Also other complaints about it running hot, I have yet to experience. Mine hasn't gotten over 70C in a Fractal Meshify C with a proper fan setup.

Cons: The only reason I removed an egg is due to the fan startup noise. From a dead stop, when the fans initially start to spin they make a sort of grinding noise at first. This goes away after a second, but it is annoying when you hear them come on and off when doing stuff such as web browsing. Apparently this is well documented on a lot of forums and EVGA is aware of the complaint, but it's annoying enough to me to drop an egg. Unfortunately I'm afraid to go through the RMA process because of this out of fear of not being able to get a replacement any time soon. This otherwise has no effect on the GPUs performance, just is annoying.

Overall Review: I definitely recommend this card to anyone looking for an upgrade from a 2070 or lower card as long as you can get it at MSRP. The 3060 Ti regularly is on par with the 2080 Super, which had a substantially higher MSRP. I have not experienced any cooling issues and my only complaint is the initial fan startup noise. Other than that, I have no problem recommending this card and EVGA definitely makes a quality product.
