Love my sturdy arms!

Ergotron 45-235-194 Neo-Flex Extend LCD Arm
Ergotron 45-235-194 Neo-Flex Extend LCD Arm

Pros: - Sturdy - Extremely easy to set up - tools included

Cons: - Tad expensive for what they are - could be cheaper

Overall Review: See my quick video review :)

2 Years Later!!!

Panasonic 2.5mm Connector Single Ear Hands-Free Headset with Headband
Panasonic 2.5mm Connector Single Ear Hands-Free Headset with Headband

Pros: -People on the other line say my microphone is loud enough (not too loud) -Sturdy, but light -Comfortable (2 hour conference calls no problem) -Fits my massive head -After two years, it still looks and operates as new (including the earpiece padding)

Cons: Nada.

Overall Review: I've used this headset every weekday for over two years with absolutely no problems. My job is mostly web development (computer-related) and it's essential that my hands are free while I talk. I'm not a health freak, but it's nice to know I'm not using Bluetooth all the time right next to my head. I've tried a Bluetooth unit in the past, but those are a pain. This headset has held up real well. TIP: I have my cell phone sitting on a grippy pad on the edge of my desk. The Panasonic headset hangs from the opposite side of the ear (no hooks required). When I unplug the headset at the end of the day, I simply lift the headset up and slide the 2.5mm jack under the headset. Again, no rigging required! :) BOTTOM LINE: Highly recommended headset. I would say this is the best headset out there in this price range. (It's dropped $1 in the past two years, but it looks like Newegg added the $0.99 shipping.)

1 ½ Years Later

SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 ST1000DM005/HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 ST1000DM005/HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: -Fast -Reliable (running 10 hrs/day for the past year and a half) -Fairly quiet

Cons: -Gets warm (pretty typical, no?)

Overall Review: I bought 4 of these. My backup solution is a total of 6TB. 2 of these Samsung HDD's are in my workstation in RAID 0, and 2 more are in a Rosewill R2-JBOD external enclosure configured with the JBOD setting. The other two terabytes consist of two Western Digital 1TB drives in another R2-JBOD enclosure. Never had an issue with either the 4 Samsung HDD's, or the Western Digital ones that were pulled from 2 different Fantom external drives. Bottom line: Highly recommended reliable piece of hardware. You have my business in the future, Samsung.

Good product

TRENDnet TEW-650AP Wireless N150 18 dBm Access Point, WDS, Repeater and AP Client Bridge
TRENDnet TEW-650AP Wireless N150 18 dBm Access Point, WDS, Repeater and AP Client Bridge

Pros: -Small -Control panel is fairly easy to use and has a host of features

Cons: -There seemed to be a bit of lag at first using the device, but now my wireless router and this WAP are working well to extend my home wireless network. -TRENDnet support is absolutely horrid. I spent several hours (!) on the phone to four different Indians trying to set this thing up as a WiFi repeater. (See Other thoughts)

Overall Review: This WAP sat unused for months because I couldn't get the thing to work (even after a couple support calls). But I finally needed it and took the plunge to talk to support and get it working. Here's my $0.02 to TRENDnet (and any other company that has customer support): Get knowledgeable and fluent support techs in the US - NOT in India!! It really turns off existing and potential customers to have to deal with people that say "Dank you for dat innformation" over and over and "Please hould on for one moemint while I loook into dis issue" instead of actually providing me with solutions...especially when customers (like myself) spend hours on the phone with un-knowledgeable staff! /rant

Still working a year later

Rosewill RC-405X 10/100Mbps 5-Port Fast Ethernet Switch
Rosewill RC-405X 10/100Mbps 5-Port Fast Ethernet Switch

Pros: Does exactly what it needs to. Never have had problems with it.

Cons: Could be heavier to weigh down the cables connected to it.

Overall Review: I've got an Onkyo TX-NR509, D-Link DIR-615, Toshiba IP phone, main workstation PC, and occasionally my laptop connected to this without any problems for the past year.

Great HomeTheater in a box!

LG LHB326 Network Built-in Wi-Fi Home Theater System
LG LHB326 Network Built-in Wi-Fi Home Theater System

Pros: -Receiver stays very quiet -Speakers are fairly loud with acceptable distortion (for this price range) -Physical Play button on the receiver...nice for playing CDs quickly -Plays YouTube, Netflix, and other video services

Cons: -WiFi dongle sticks out way too far -Flimsy tray design (see Other thoughts) -Somewhat lacking bass -Volume display shows for too long after changing the volume on the remote -Somewhat convoluted menu system...could be better -Limited inputs

Overall Review: Be careful when inserting discs. Someone in our family didn't put the disc in completely and forced the tray closed. The motor spun up and stripped out the rubber 'teeth' that hold the disc in. I took it apart and super-glued a thin layer of foam to replace it. The family needed an affordable Home Theater in a Box solution, and this was the ticket!
