Very fast Raid-5

Pros: Easy to configure. Fast raid-5 speeds. Lots of options for configuring cache, stripe sizes, etc.
Cons: Pricey, but worth it. Wish it supported replacement of the cache memory with a bigger DIMM like the others in it's series.
Overall Review: 4x640GB WD Caviar Blues in a Raid-5 (atto): 4k Writes: 193MBps 4k Reads: 201MBps Sequential Writes: 310MBps Sequential Reads: 315MBps
Big, Bright and Bold!

Pros: Very big. 27.5" is bigger than my home television! Good resolution.
Cons: None
Overall Review: I'm a software developer, and the size and resolution of this screen is perfect!
Fast by itself, super fast striped!!

Pros: Absolutely fast. Firmware updates were very easy thanks to the OCZ support Forums. Very much worth the price it if you're looking for super quick access times and high transfer speeds.
Cons: Pretty expensive for storage, but very cheap compared to other SSDs. Came with firmware 1.4, but I needed 1.41 for GC since I was raiding them. 1.5 is out that supports both Trim and GC. Wish it was out when I purchased.
Overall Review: Two of these in a raid-0: 4k writes 120MBps 4k reads 44MBps Sequential writes up to 280MBps Sequential reads up to 458MBps Transfer speeds were slightly slower just after installing Windows 7, but sped back up within a day or two. I use OCZ Vertex and Summit SSDs for both my work laptop and my home gaming PC, and I'm very satisfied with both their product and their support.
Fast and Hot - Nolan Ryan of HDDs?

Pros: Very fast for a 7200RPM drive. Probably the fastest non-SSD laptop drive I've ever used. Good price per GB and per performance. Crystal Disk mark 100MB Benchmark results: - Seq Read: 86.32MB/s - Seq Write: 81.64MB/s - 512k Read: 38.99MB/s - 512k Write: 63.14MB/s - 4k Read: 0.630MB/s - 4k Write: 1.756MB/s
Cons: Too hot for a CarPC!!! Yea I know I'm crazy for putting a 7200 RPM hard drive in the back of a trunk on a summer day in the Carolina's. I never had this drive fail on me during use, but the computer did noticeably slow down when it reached the 55C-58C temps. WD's website says it won't operate over 60C. I always turned the unit off at 58C. I replaced this drive with a 30GB OCZ Summit SSD drive, and carPC operates smoothly with no performance loss on hot days. It doesn't have the performance of a solid state drive, but it sure does beat the price, and still offers better than average performance for laptop users.
Overall Review: After removing it from my carPC, I added it as a secondary drive to my laptop. My laptop's primary hard drive is a 120GB OCZ Summit Solid State drive, and having this drive as a secondary data drive has really proved beneficial to my work. Since moving the drive to my work PC, the drive has performed better than I expected. I recommend it to anyone as a primary OS drive for those who can't jump on the SSD bandwagon yet, or even as a secondary drive if you can afford a small SSD for your OS. - Windows 7 RTM - 120GB OCZ Summit OS Drive - 320GB Scorpio Black Data Drive If comparing Hard Disks to Solid State drives is like comparing throwing a bullet to shooting a bullet, then drive is the Nolan Ryan of the group.
Excellent Deal Breaker

Pros: Fast... really fast. Installs just like any other hard drive. Newegg's dealbreaker gave me the affordable chance I was looking for to finally jump into the SSD world. Works great on Windows 7 RTM. Installed and booted to the desktop in under 10 minutes (Including the time it took to fill out the forms, Product Key, and Windows initial performance cheks) $289 was a FANTASTIC price for this unit at the time of purchase.
Cons: I've been using this device for little over a week now, and with heavy daily use (I'm a .NET programmer utilizing Visual Studio 2008, MS Office, SQL Server 05 & 08) I have not seen any signs of degraded performance. Logic dictates performance will degrade over time without a new firmware from samsung, but It doesn't appear I will be needing it for a while. I look forward to the release. I'd rather go ahead and flash a new firmware sooner than later, but for now, performance is not a con by any means.
Overall Review: I highly recomend this drive paired with Windows 7 to any Windows Programmer (Windows and ASP.NET). Visual studio launches almost instantly; large projects load and compile very quickly; attaching visual studio debugger to your application takes no time at all. It may just be the buzz of newer technology, but I honestly feel like I am being far more productive with my time.
CarPC - Excelent Choice - But...

Pros: Compact size: The mini-ITX size is absolutely perfect for HTPC and CarPC's Lots of features: Lots of usb ports, wifi add-on works great, onboard nvidia GPU power. Customer support is more responsive than I expected. Support tickets usually get returned within a business day. ( I was expecting much longer, but was pleasantly suprised) Great support for a wide range of AM2+ processors. Over the last few weeks I have seen zotac increase their list of supported and tested CPUs and memory chips. Which included a couple of 125W CPUs. This really helped me out as I was working on a project to put a high wattage CPU in a carPC (here in the south it gets hot!) Great price amongst other mini-itx motherboards out there. Looking forward to this market growing so the price will start to come down some more.
Cons: S3 Sleep mode doesn't work correctly in Vista/Windows7. After putting board to sleep and pressing the power button to wake it back up, the board turns on, and the fans start spinning but after about 1 second, turns off again. After a second press of the power button it boots up claiming it was not shut down properly. I've contacted zotac about this, and they say it's a bug with Vista and this nforce chipset. I've tried a couple of different versions of the chipset driver without any success.
Overall Review: It seems that many people are starting to use these zotac boards for carPCs. A couple of people I talked to are using the GF8300 model with support for the intel cpus and are praising them. Excelent work Zotac!
