Great Case

SilverStone RAVEN RV02B-EW-USB3.0 Matte black reinforced plastic outer shell, 0.8mm Steel body ATX Full Tower Computer Case with Window Side Panel with 2X USB3.0 ports
SilverStone RAVEN RV02B-EW-USB3.0 Matte black reinforced plastic outer shell, 0.8mm Steel body ATX Full Tower Computer Case with Window Side Panel with 2X USB3.0 ports

Pros: Great airflow due to the 90 degree rotated motherboard. Plenty of room for video cards. Good cable management setup. Nice HD setup. Great setup for going watercooled. Looks really good.

Cons: CPU cutout is a little too high for the two LGA 1155 motherboards I had. SATA hot swap connector was not quite right - had to push the connector in one direction and the HD in the other to get them to connect up, which meant taking off the back cover too. As mentioned in another review, the PSU cutout is a little low for some PSU's. I'm even using a Silverstone ST1000-P, which you'd think would work perfectly since it's a Silverstone, but that's not the case. My PSU sits to high and it's fan is partially covered. I don't anticipate any issues here in the long run, but it's slightly annoying. While the sleeved fan cables are great, it would have been nice had they sleeved the front panel connectors too and used a black Molex connector for the front LED. All in all, these are minor issues for me, but they do add up enough to deduct one egg.

Overall Review: The case wasn't actually as big as I expected. Coming from a CM Cosmos, it's actually much shorter, albeit deeper, than my old case. However, since the motherboard is rotated 90 degrees, my Raven sticks out the same amount as my Cosmos did from under my desk because with no cable connectors coming out of the back, it can slide all the way to the back of the desk frame. Granted, I'm using a metal frame and glass desk that doesn't have a back 'wall', so this wouldn't be the case if you were using a 'normal' desk. All minor issues aside, I love this case. Since this was a new build, I don't really have comparable temps from the Cosmos, but on a stock clock, I have yet to get north of 58 degrees on the CPU with Prime95. I'm currently using a Hyper N520 until the Swiftech H220 cooler comes out. Once I have the Swiftech in place, I'll see how the temps go on a 4.7ghz OC. It is a bit odd that everything is flipped 180 degrees on the setup with the window on the right side instead of the 'normal' left side. I had to rearrange my whole desk and space around it to change from the Cosmos.

Thermaltake CL-W0044 Bigwater UV Sensitive Coolant
Thermaltake CL-W0044 Bigwater UV Sensitive Coolant

Pros: Hmm. Looks cool. Good thermal properties. Not enough to offset the cons.

Cons: This stuff is CONDUCTIVE! Quite conductive actually. A very small amount leaked out of the CPU block and onto video card #1. Poof! Dead video card. (And yes, the entire system was hooked up out of case & tested for two hours leak free prior to being installed!) So, no more Thermaltake coolant for me. I ordered Fluid XP+ to replace it. Fortuantely only 1 video card got killed, but it could have been far worse. If you're going to go the water cooling route, spend the extra $$$ to get a non-conductive coolant fluid.

Overall Review: Newegg is a great place for 99% of computer stuff, but really doesn't touch water cooling like I think they should. As far as I can tell, there's no non-conductive coolant offered here at all. I also wonder why anyone would make a water cooling kit & NOT use non-conductive coolant...

The Best AIO cooler out there. Perios

Swiftech H220 Water Cooler
Swiftech H220 Water Cooler

Pros: Real quality in a all in one cooler. You can open and expand the loop while still keeping your warranty in tact. Great cooling performance. Quiet. Very easy to install.

Cons: None at this time. To be fair, the very first batch there were problems with debris in the loop clogging the pump and causing it to stop. However, the issue seems to have been resolved in subsequent batches. In addition, Swiftech has been absolutely terrific on the support and customer service end.

Overall Review: With my H220, I was able to run my 3770k at 4.5 ghz, 1.27 VCore and max temps at 80 degrees on a 18 hour Prime95 run. I've since de-lidded my 3770k, used CoolLaboratory Liquid Ultra between the die and IHS and am now seeing Mac temps of 64 I'm Prime95 on extended runs. You will not regret getting this cooler. Great mouse!

Logitech G700 Black 13 Buttons Tilt Wheel USB RF Wireless Laser 5700 dpi Gaming Mouse
Logitech G700 Black 13 Buttons Tilt Wheel USB RF Wireless Laser 5700 dpi Gaming Mouse

Pros: Loads of adjustability, tons of buttons, can custom map everything, easy on the fly profile changes, wired or wireless, fits great in my hand.

Cons: About the only con I have is that the side buttons are easy to pretty more than one button on - I have a tendency to press the top back button when I'm meaning to press the bottom back button. Of course, this is likely user error and not really the fault of the mouse...

Works Good, Could Be Better Though

ICY DOCK MB990SP-B Dual Bay 2.5" to 3.5" SATA/IDE SSD & Hard Drive Bracket / Adapter, tool-less design for installation
ICY DOCK MB990SP-B Dual Bay 2.5" to 3.5" SATA/IDE SSD & Hard Drive Bracket / Adapter, tool-less design for installation

Pros: Holds 2 SSD drives nicely. Bolts up to any normal 3.5" HD cage or mount.

Cons: The SSD drives I used (2 Samsung 840 Pro's) were thin enough that they rattled around in the adapter. I resolved this by taking the bubble wrap that the adapter came in and folding it over a couple of times, then sliding the SSD's into the dock with the bubble wrap underneath them. Thankfully since SSD's don't really generate any heat, this should take care of the rattle permanently. However, some sort of tensioner to keep the SSD's from rattling would be a good change to make on this item.

Bring it back Newegg!

SilverStone RAVEN RV02B-EW Matte black reinforced plastic outer shell, 0.8mm Steel body ATX Full Tower Computer Case
SilverStone RAVEN RV02B-EW Matte black reinforced plastic outer shell, 0.8mm Steel body ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Pros: Great case: 90 degree design makes cooling much more efficient. 3 180mm fans at the bottom operate super quietly but push a lot of air. Moving the PSU to the top and giving it it's own direct vent to outside air makes it run cooler and keeps the inside of the case nice and cool. Great cable management setup. Easy to work in and no sharp edges to nick yourself on. Looks great.

Cons: A few minor complaints: Should have sleeved the front panel wiring - power, reset, hdd. As well, should have sleeved and used a black connector for the big blue led lights on the front. Hot swap connection is only 3gb/s and is hard to get drive properly connected to. I had to push the drive in one direction and the hot swap connector in the other to get the drive to connect up.

Overall Review: Even though this case is big, it's actually smaller than my last case (Cosmos) and since the mobo is rotated 90 degrees, the cabling is much easier to manage. I was able to slide this case all the way back to the end of my desk and it sticks out exactly as far as the Cosmos did, since all the cabling was coming out of the back of the Cosmos. 4pin fans that can be fully controlled by the mobo and software would be nice. Not currently available through Newegg, my favorite vendor. Bring it back Newegg!
