It goes beep

APEVIA CVTCSPK 2 in. Case speaker cable for computer cases that connects to the motherboard
APEVIA CVTCSPK 2 in. Case speaker cable for computer cases that connects to the motherboard

Pros: It beeps. Beep.

Cons: It would be nice if it played a random selection from my iTunes library at each startup. And maybe cleaned my house.

Overall Review: I plugged it into the part on my motherboard which said "speaker." I turned on my computer. The speaker beeped at me when it was supposed to. It was all very exciting.

Worked for me, with one glitch

NVIDIA Gift - Assassin's Creed III Game Coupon
NVIDIA Gift - Assassin's Creed III Game Coupon

Pros: I was able to install the game (it's a huge download, so if you have a slower connection, be prepared to let it go for a long while), though I did encounter one problem. After downloading it, I installed it, and received confirmation it had been installed. I couldn't find it listed in Windows or uPlay, though, so I had to go to the install folder and click on the executable file to get it to open in uPlay (which I already had installed). After that, I put in the code in uPlay and everything was fine. A bit annoying, but it seems I had better luck than some other folks. On the plus side, the game plays beautifully on my 650 TI 2GB on the highest settings.

Cons: Wonky installation process (see the 'pros' section above). Too bad it isn't a Steam game, but the game is free, I'm not complaining about that.

Overall Review: Like I said above, I already had uPlay installed, since I have Assassin's Creed II via uPlay, too. Maybe it helped having it already on my computer?

Great monitor

SAMSUNG 23.6" TN LCD Monitor 2ms GTG 1920 x 1080 D-Sub, HDMI B350 Series S24B350HL
SAMSUNG 23.6" TN LCD Monitor 2ms GTG 1920 x 1080 D-Sub, HDMI B350 Series S24B350HL

Pros: I bought this monitor from Newegg when it was on sale with a free one year extended warranty. So far, it's been great -- no ghosting, great color and contrast, and makes my 20" HP look like an old VGA CRT. I am into photography, and the monitor does a great job with color saturation (especially pinks and reds), etc. I've had no trouble with tilting the stand, and there doesn't appear to be any bad viewing angles.

Cons: The stand is a bit wobbly, but I don't worry about it falling over. Be sure to screw in the base. I have trouble finding the power button on the front without a light shining on it, since it's not a raised or defined button. I usually just poke at it until I hit it.

Overall Review: All in all, this monitor was a great purchase. I had looked at several monitors and read about contrast ratios, etc., but in the end, it came down to the reviews others posted here (and Newegg's great price and warranty).

Amazing processor

AMD Phenom II X4 960T - Phenom II X4 Zosma Quad-Core 3.0 GHz Socket AM3 95W Desktop Processor - HD96ZTWFGRBOX

Pros: Unlocked all six cores without any trouble on my ASRock motherboard, and have it OC'ed to 3.3ghz at the moment, though I haven't tried it any faster yet. Runs completely stable, smooth, and cool with my after-market cooler.

Cons: I've yet to find any.

Overall Review: I'm not a major gamer, but I can run Skyrim on ultra high with the HD texture packs and a bunch of mods, which is cool. On the four cores, I got it up to 3.75ghz stable.

Very happy for the price

Famous Brand 20" 60 Hz TN LCD Monitor 5 ms 1600 x 900 D-Sub, DVI-D TSS-20X11 LED
Famous Brand 20" 60 Hz TN LCD Monitor 5 ms 1600 x 900 D-Sub, DVI-D TSS-20X11 LED

Pros: I bought this monitor when it was $80, and I've been quite pleased with its performance. The screen is bright and clear, the colors are sharp, and there are no ghosting or other graphical issues. I bought it to replace an old Dell LCD, and I can't believe the difference. I haven't even had to adjust the settings, which is important, since I am into photography and use the monitor to process photos. And yes, it is a 20" monitor (measured diagonally), for those who are curious.

Cons: I do wish it had a 16:10 aspect ratio instead of 16:9, but for the price, I'm not complaining. The plastic surrounding the screen, and the plastic on the base, both seem flimsy. Again, for the price, it's not a biggie. Also, the power button is on the underside of the monitor, so whenever I press it, the monitor jiggles. It's a bit awkward.

Overall Review: I bought the extended replacement warranty, since the monitor is recertified... just to be on the safe side.

Works great on AM3

ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro - Compact Multi-Compatible Tower CPU Cooler | 92 mm PWM Fan | for AMD AM4 and Intel 115x CPU | Recommended up to 115 W TDP
ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro - Compact Multi-Compatible Tower CPU Cooler | 92 mm PWM Fan | for AMD AM4 and Intel 115x CPU | Recommended up to 115 W TDP

Pros: Once secured into my motherboard, it sits solidly, runs my AMD Athlon II X3 445 Rana (not yet overclocked) about 10°C cooler than my stock fan, and is definitely quieter.

Cons: It was a bit difficult for me to hook on the side clamps to attach to the AMD mount I already had (the Freezer doesn't come with one, only Intel), and I ended up rubbing off part of the thermal paste because of it. I used Arctic Silver 5 instead.

Overall Review: So far, so good. It was my first time installing anything other than a stock cooler, so the almost non-existent instructions were confusing. I had to look up online how to remove the fan before installation, as is required. The AMD mounting brackets were loose before I secured everything in on the motherboard, but it's solid now. Note: measure your case to make sure you have clearance before you buy it. I did, so I knew it would fit.
