Pleasant to use

Pros: 1. Easy to install 2. Light 3. Good audio and USB access at front 4. Price is right (after rebate)
Cons: 1. Fan is kind of loud 2. Audio jack at front has low quality connection
Overall Review: Overall, I am happy with this new system. With 1G and Athlon64 3000 AM2, XP boot up time is less than 10 sec.
Terrible product

Pros: Small
Cons: First one came in DOA. Newegg promptly replace it. The 2nd one was working for about a month. Suddently, it hung XP up when every I tried to copy file to it. I have done many disk check with no problem. I have formated it to NTFS and problem remains. It is now over 30 days. It is really disappointing.
Overall Review: I heard terrible story about this one from reviews so have never used for critical data. What would a portable drive be useful if you can not trust it at all? It is definitely a bad product.
Yes, it is so slow

Pros: 8GB and cheap
Cons: It is the slowest (in terms of the write speed) USB stick I have ever used. If you look at the estimated file copy time under XP, you would never believe the number. It seems the write speed fluctuate dramatically so you will get estimated time from tens of MINUTES to hundreds of minutes just to move 2~300 MB data. The actual time may not be so terrible, but still much slower than any USB I have used. You don't even need to measure the speed because you actually feel it every time.
12x

Pros: Cheap, no bad burns so far
Cons: I routinely burn about 100 DVD every 3~4 weeks. My first two spindles burn great with 16x with no problem. But the current spindle burnt with same software and same burner only max out at 12X (Nero did not allow me to set to 16X). I happened had some DVD from last spindle, they can be burnt at 16X. Did RiDATA had problem now? Anyone see the same thing recently?
Problematic

Pros: Cheap with good reviews and promote.
Cons: 1 of out of a pair died. Its gradual failing make it hard to be found. (I regret the change from Corsair to this pair due to Newegg promote).
Overall Review: Bought 2 for dual channel. Initially runs fine, but then "not enough mem" error and random reboot. Finally, booting to XP failed (can't even recover from install CD). Mem tests shows lots of error first but report fine in the later runs. Pulled many cards out (and hair). Finally, kick the bad mem chip out and problem solved. Very annoying.
Mis-alignment

Pros: user controllable fan, vent, and cost (after newegg's promotion). The construction is sturdy.
Cons: The internal SATA connector is misaligned (in height) with WD hard drive. Many users have reported this problem. This can be easily addressed with adjustable design (either the HD or circuit holder). Some suggested bending the HD holding tabs. But I put a washer under the spacers that holds the circuit board and every thing seems to be aligned well. The circuit board mounting has tight tolerance, tight in the wrong way. Otherwise, the installation will be a lot more smoother.
Overall Review: If you enjoy taking things apart and put them back and have some spare time. This is good hands-on project. Be aware of electrostatic damage. I'm glad mine still work after quite handling. Once it is installed, it seems to be a good product.
