Most Critical Review

Poor keyboard

SAMSUNG Series 3 15.6" AMD A6-3420M 4GB Memory Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
SAMSUNG Series 3 15.6" AMD A6-3420M 4GB Memory Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

Pros: Pretty easy set-up. Not too much bloatware. Machine is fast enough for me. Decent price on sale.

Cons: The worst thing is the keyboard. Cheap feel, and virtually no tactile feedback. The keys are squeezed together, and not raised. All have the same smooth surface. It's easy to hit the wrong one. The Delete key is tiny and right above Backspace. The right Shift key is displaced left, so it's not right under the Enter key. The touch pad is too big. The edges of my palms rest on it when typing. Had to turn of off most scrolling and zooming functions, because I was getting random motion and window switches while typing. The pad action is erratic--when you want to scroll, it's hit or miss (literally). Samsung left out a thumb-wheel volume control and wifi on-off switch. They can only be controlled by the Fn-F... keys, or by clicking on the tray icons. Somewhat annoying. During set-up, there's a step where the system wants to partition the hard drive in two parts--no idea why. Didn't pay enough attention, now I have C:(178 GB) and D:(267 GB) -- ???

Overall Review: Hopefully, I'll get used to the keyboard. Touch pad not so annoying after turning off most scrolling/zooming features.
