A Fan to Cool

Delta Electronics AFC1212D-PWM Case Cooler with TAC Sensor
Delta Electronics AFC1212D-PWM Case Cooler with TAC Sensor

Pros: Creates high volume cooling, uses only a 4-pin connector on the mobo, easy to install.

Cons: May use up to 9W. May cause computer to cool down before completely shutting off. I used to have my PC powered on light go off when I turned the PC off. Now, my PC stays on for four minutes afterward cooling down the mobo components.

Great Power Supply

Antec EarthWatts Series EA-750 Green 750 W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Certified CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Continuous Power Supply

Pros: -Long lasting -Cheap -Best value for dollar

Cons: -Not modular -Efficiency

Overall Review: I purchased this in 2011. It is now 2020 and it is still running. I've had no problems and this PSU is going through it's second motherboard, CPU, memory, and cooling solution. I will run it until it dies.

Runs quiet and cool

XFX Double D Radeon R9 270 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card R9-270A-CDFC
XFX Double D Radeon R9 270 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Graphics Card R9-270A-CDFC

Pros: Only one six pin power connector is a plus. I had a 4890 XFX card and it had a six and eight pin connector, but it was a factory overclock edition. Even when gaming this video card stays cool with Wolfenstein: The New Order. This video card is lighter than my last one. It will handle the new HD standard 4096k resolution. Price is relatively low for the performance I see from it. Having 2 GByte of video memory on the board is nice. XFX has the best video cards and never had one fail yet.

Cons: Double card width. Mostly an aluminum heat sink structure, but that contributes to less weight.

Ride the Lightning - Literally!

Intel Core i7-4790K - Core i7 4th Gen Devil's Canyon Quad-Core 4.0 GHz LGA 1150 88W Intel HD Graphics 4600 Desktop Processor - BX80646I74790K
Intel Core i7-4790K - Core i7 4th Gen Devil's Canyon Quad-Core 4.0 GHz LGA 1150 88W Intel HD Graphics 4600 Desktop Processor - BX80646I74790K

Pros: I upgraded from an Asus P5Q Pro Turbo, E8400 Intel processor with 8 Gigbyte Ram, and Intel SSD 330 series (5-year warranty) to the Phenominal "Devil's Canyon" 4790k, which CPU scores quadrupled and tripled in some events on PassMark 7.0. So it uses 88Watts, which is better than the Extreme LGA 2011 Intel processor. 22mm architecture results in less heat and small heat sink. Price because who really needs four or five video cards running, which is what the LGA 2011 X97 chipset was meant for. I am happy with the Z97 chipset that powers my one XFX ATI Radeon 4890, which was fast four years ago and still rocks! I have 8 cores that show up on Windows 7 Resource Monitor, which is impressive. This is only a Quad Core, but runs like an 8-core. Intel continues to lead the processor market for productivity and this processor will help you achieve that!! The 4.0GHz speed is one whole gigahertz faster than my old Core 2 Duo E8400.

Cons: It doesn't handle "graphics' compared to some AMD processors in the same category. The standard heat sink is tiny.

Overall Review: I recommend the Artic Freezer i11 with Artic Silver 5 for a cooling solution. Approximately 22 dollars for the i11 and 10 dollars for a tube of Artic Silver, which cheap your new processor plenty cool without breaking the budget.

Intel - Second to none!

Intel 320 Series 2.5" 300GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSA2CW300G3B5
Intel 320 Series 2.5" 300GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDSA2CW300G3B5

Pros: Five year warranty, need I say more. I would like to see the other manufacturers compete with this. Easy to setup with Acronis Data transfer software. Cloning took less than 20 minutes total. Win Experience score went from a 5.9 to 7.6 in the harddrive category.

Cons: I had to reactivate Windows 7. I would say price, but all good technology costs big dollars!

Overall Review: If you don't want to spend money on the latest Intel processor, then this is a reasonable upgrade for speed!

Silent and small

Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 500GB USB 3.0 Ultra-Portable Hard Drive (Blue)
Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 500GB USB 3.0 Ultra-Portable Hard Drive (Blue)

Pros: This drive you don't know is running unless you have the LED function set on the Seagate Dashboard (included software) or holding it in your hand (small vibration). I have had speeds in the 66MB/s when copying small files to the drive. Trial backup software included.

Cons: Large file sizes slow the drive from 22MB/s to 26MB/s using USB 2.0 standard. I have not tried USB 3.0, but I think it would make this faster. Fingerprints show up easy on the glossy case, but they can be prevented by leaving the shipping plastic on the case.

Overall Review: A great drive!!
