Incredible CPU!

AMD Ryzen 9 3950X - Ryzen 9 3rd Gen 16-Core 3.5 GHz Socket AM4 105W Desktop CPU Processor - 100-100000051WOF
AMD Ryzen 9 3950X - Ryzen 9 3rd Gen 16-Core 3.5 GHz Socket AM4 105W Desktop CPU Processor - 100-100000051WOF

Pros: 16C / 32T. Mic drop.

Cons: At present, it's a bit of a budget buster.

Overall Review: No problems as a drop-in upgrade into my existing MSI X370 Gaming Pro Carbon. I did require the latest BIOS update, of course. However, after updating my BIOS it was a simple, drop-in upgrade that I've been super pleased with since. Nice to see AMD on top again these days.

Good, but would not stay on my head...

Jabra Elite 45h On-Ear Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones - Navy (100-91800004-20)
Jabra Elite 45h On-Ear Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones - Navy (100-91800004-20)

Overall Review: These headphones would not stay put on my head. The "firmness" or "squeeze" if you will was not strong enough, and they would slowly slide loose, causing me to constantly have to re-adjust them, to keep them in place. This was such an issue that I ended up returning them for a refund. The sound quality and other features were certainly adequate, however. In short, if you plan to move around while wearing them, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Doesn't Live Up...

Phanteks Revolt X PH-P1200PS 80PLUS Platinum, 1200W, Patented Power Splitter Technology, Fully Modular, Dual System Support
Phanteks Revolt X PH-P1200PS 80PLUS Platinum, 1200W, Patented Power Splitter Technology, Fully Modular, Dual System Support

Pros: 12 year warranty.

Overall Review: I've returned to Newegg to give this a review after 13 months of ownership of the PSU. Sadly, the PSU has stopped working 13 months into ownership. The load on the PSU was a relatively constant 700-800 Watts, despite being rated for 1200, I never loaded it at or near its ceiling. At least it has a 12 year warranty, which, in my experience, I need. The PSU today emitted the tell-tale smell of burnt electrical wires as it is clearly on its last legs. I hope your ownership experience is better than mine, but if I were to do it all over again I would likely keep looking in the PSU space. Good luck.

Great stuff!

Noctua NT-H1 3.5g, Pro-Grade Thermal Compound Paste (3.5g)
Noctua NT-H1 3.5g, Pro-Grade Thermal Compound Paste (3.5g)

Pros: It's cost effective. It cools very nicely.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: To me, this is "the standard" thermal paste for which others seek to emulate.

"The Standard" in Quality Air Cooling for Enthusiast PC Builders...

Noctua NH-D15, Premium CPU Cooler with 2x NF-A15 PWM 140mm Fans (Brown)
Noctua NH-D15, Premium CPU Cooler with 2x NF-A15 PWM 140mm Fans (Brown)

Pros: Powerful air cooling solution that will significantly lower your thermals. Made of high-quality, not "flimsy" components. Good brand and reputation; they are especially helpful when new sockets come along and you want to migrate your cooler to your next build.

Cons: Maybe next time I'll go for the ChromeBlack version that Noctua has out now - the brown colour scheme is getting a little old.

Overall Review: This is the 2nd NH-D15 I've owned. I'm still using another one from a few years back and they both work great. Truly, this is the "standard" to which others will benchmark and compare against. You will not be disappointed if you choose to invest in this cooler.

The Best Upgrade for Older PCs...

SAMSUNG 860 Pro Series 2.5" 256GB SATA III V-NAND 2-bit MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-76P256BW
SAMSUNG 860 Pro Series 2.5" 256GB SATA III V-NAND 2-bit MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-76P256BW

Pros: Super fast.

Cons: Included SATA cable would be nice.

Overall Review: This SSD was super easy to install. Samsung's data migration software is a godsend. I simply opened up the old PC, connected the SSD to power and SATA, and powered it up. Launching the data migration software was a breeze, and the whole previous hard drive copied to this new drive rather quickly. Once complete, I removed the old HDD in its entirety, being sure to keep it as a back-up.
