Helium Disks for Consumers

Pros: The Toshiba MG series are definitely good value per GB and 12TB can handle a lot of photos, video and games.
Cons: The drive head assembly is slightly audible but this has to be expected with a 16 head assembly reading the stack of 8 plates.
Overall Review: No question that 8 plates and 12TB storage brings a new capacity that used to be sold to server vendors who now are using 16TB and 18TB disks. The smaller disks are now less expensive and consumers can now have 7,200 rom conventional disks instead of the low cost drive managed shingled rivals.
The DisplayPort was not working

Pros: The stand is excellent
Cons: DisplayPort does not like any cables I have, HDMI 1.4 on the panel does not do more than 4K30, HDMI 2.0 is needed for 4K60 The panel claims Deep Color but my nVidia card would not allow more than 8-bit at any resolution Even with the INF file for the panel it was not able to select 1 billion colors as claimed
Overall Review: I bought an LG panel and it does work as claimed and it does do HDR which is simply the new marketing term for what I know as Deep Color (10-bit per color or more) I returned this panel as defective as I was unable to get the DisplayPort working to the panel may have been a dud
affordable 2TB

Pros: Cheap 2TB in the N<2 2230 for Dell 5440 and 3480 and other 14" class machines. 2TB is spacious so cloud copies can be downloaded etc
Cons: Would be liked 4TB
Overall Review: Silicon Power is reasonable good quality, not the fastest but not the slowest either
Low cost and works OK

Pros: The box is quick to place a hard disk in and it is transparent for IDENT and CrystalDiskInfo read disks fine,
Cons: The PSU is a tad small and oriented wrong for power bars
Overall Review: Orico has many solutions for storage needs. This model has USB 3.0 support and it supports 5 megabit speeds.
works great

Pros: KIngSpec has been around quite a while so they earned a lot of respectability Was happy that Windows 11 installed without issue
Cons: Not the fastest SSD out there. Would be nice to see a 4TB version available.
Overall Review: I installed this in my old Lenovo P52 so that the boot SSD would have lots of room. The machine is an old 8th gen Intel with P1000 graphics. I use it for video editing. The machine has dual M.2 slots and a Samsung SSD was problematic with Windows 11 so I tried Kingspec and it was issue free.
Not bad value

Pros: Fits my Dell Latitude 5440 easily and its much faster than the original .Runs cooler as well which allows for better overall thermal management.
Overall Review: If you want more storage Team Group is reliable in my experience.
