Excellent card

PNY Quadro FX 580 VCQFX580-PCIE-PB 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Graphics Card
PNY Quadro FX 580 VCQFX580-PCIE-PB 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Graphics Card

Pros: Outstanding card. Fast as hell. Have an FX1700 in one machine and this card in my newest machine and the $180 FX580 is quicker. Much quicker. I do CFD/FEA with very big models and the card is great. I'm running Ubuntu and it booted with working graphics off my old partition (which had an ATI driver running!) The Nvidia driver installs through the repositories perfectly, and after that the card screams! Nividia's linux support is excellent. Couldn't have had a better experience with it. I am sure its an easy process with windows, too. Card is quite small, so it will fit in almost anything, and at 40W it runs cool. Draws basically no power.

Cons: Fan is a bit loud for a 40W load but not as loud as my CPU heatsink so not really a concern. Once the case is closed you'd never really notice it unless its DEAD silent in the room.

Overall Review: I personally like the HDMI connections but some people may not. Have yet to do any gaming or HDCP content yet.

JPAC 412Black Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 500W Power Supply
JPAC 412Black Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 500W Power Supply

Pros: Cheap. That's it.

Cons: Crappiest case ever. I wasn't expecting much, but wow. Power supply was DOA. LED's were DOA. LCD temp screen went out in a week. Plastic front was lightly cracked, and the metal is flimsy to boot. Do not buy. The price is attractive, but totally not worth it. It will cost you as much as a good case if you count RMA costs and what not.

Same as AS ceramic

Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound AS5-3.5G
Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound AS5-3.5G

Pros: It works.

Cons: It works as well as their ceramic stuff. Installed one of each on a dual socket machine. Took the hotter proc out and switched to ceramic and got the same temp as before. Way too expensive, they're cashing in on the quality of their past products at this point.

Decent board

ASUS Z8PE-D12(ASMB4-IKVM) Dual LGA 1366 Intel 5520 Tylersburg Dual Intel Xeon 5500 and 5600 Series w/ Remote Management Server Motherboard
ASUS Z8PE-D12(ASMB4-IKVM) Dual LGA 1366 Intel 5520 Tylersburg Dual Intel Xeon 5500 and 5600 Series w/ Remote Management Server Motherboard

Pros: Solid board. Excellent tech support (I've RMA'd once, used tech support a few times).

Cons: Northbridge runs pretty hot. Boots slow Does not have a PCI slot. PITA, if you want a sound card.

Overall Review: You need 1.5 volt memory. I am running OCZ 12GB kit OCZ3P1333LV12GS and I can only see 10GB of the first 12GB. Am going with Crucial for the full 24GB and hopefully using the OCZ elsewhere . . . Just to clarify: the heatsink screws right into the board. Not through to the case. You can mount in SSI-EEB, or with EATX and not have all the holes line up.

Creative 7300000000315 Gray 104 Normal Keys 15 Function Keys RF Wireless Slim Keyboard & Mouse Combo
Creative 7300000000315 Gray 104 Normal Keys 15 Function Keys RF Wireless Slim Keyboard & Mouse Combo

Pros: Cheap. Nice looking keyboard.

Cons: Mouse absolutely sucks. Skips, doesn't work unless its on perfectly smooth, solid color surface. Zero accuracy whatsoever. Keyboard requires that you literally pound the keys for it to register. Drivers are rubbish. Everytime I plug in the charger chord, I lose both the mouse and keyboard. When I reboot windows with the chord plugged in, I have to do the same #$%^ when I pull the chord. Utter rubbish.

Overall Review: Stay awa. It's a $0 headache.

Rosewill RCX-Z775-SL 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler
Rosewill RCX-Z775-SL 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

Pros: Great cooler. Dropped my E6600 5C at peak and 2-3C at idle with Arctic Silver. Well built, quality piece. Work the $. Extremely quiet.

Cons: The stock grease is rubbish. Its kind of big and heavy.
