Fantastic Product!

SteelSeries Rival Optical Gaming Mouse
SteelSeries Rival Optical Gaming Mouse

Pros: Wow! Am I surprised this only has five reviews. Let me tell you, I was one of the ones that fell into the hype of laser gaming mice. After I got mine, I was pretty dissapointed -- the z axis problems (lift-off), acceleration issues (movement to mouse speed is *NOT* constant), etc. Don't fall for what I did O: ). I think optical, for gaming, is the WAY to go. You get none of the issues you see from laser mice. Now, I prefer gaming on higher sensitivity, so this mouse is absolutely perfect! I have larger hands, so I always worry a mouse will be too small (Roccat Kone was way to small), but let me tell you this was the perfect size! Size wise, this is comparable to a Razer Death Adder. No lift off, so I can easily lift up the mouse and reposition it to the center of my matt with no tracking issues while lifted off. This thing is smoooth. You will be happy you got it =). I paired this up with a Corsair MM200 cloth matt. Perfect combo. This thing is responsive and I have to say, my favorite mouse I've ever owned. Software is great!

Cons: Now, I did say software is great, but software is also where it will receive a -1 dock. When I installed the software for my mouse it mentioned a critical firmware update. I clicked this... uh oh. While flashing the mouse the update bar *did not move* at all. Scary stuff, thought I had bricked my mouse. It just flashed blue. I researched online and this seems to be a somewhat common problem. As much as I hate rebooting during a flash, I ended up killing the software, rebooting, and trying again. Worked instantly this time.

Overall Review: Other than the firmware flash issue, I can think of no additional cons. I really love this mouse. I am using it on a cloth mat, so I don't know how it would track on a hard mat. I tried it on my desk (white shiny top) just for kicks and it does not track well -- expected since this is optical, so keep that in mind. I would really recommend buying a mouse pad with this.

Quick Install/Does what is needed

Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 - Download - 1 PC
Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013 - Download - 1 PC

Pros: It's Office 2013... word, onenote, excel, PowerPoint. Get's the job done. Easy install... go to MS site, apply serial #, login, install.

Cons: I do hate the fact that it is a one per computer license.

Overall Review: In summary... easy install, restrictive license, and Office 2013 -- it get's the job done.

Great Board for Cheap!

ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: So it's been a while since I've done a build and I wasn't familiar with the ASRock brand but decided to give this a go. Have to say, extremely happy with this board :). You can't beat the price!

Cons: Can't really say I have any.. the board doesn't have headers for USB 3.0 (unless I've completely missed them), but it has built in USB 3.0 so no big deal here.
