10 Years Strong
Pros: Great sound, highly adaptable. I run on 2.1 with L and R averaged to center and copied to the rear most of the time, but switch on the fly to music mode and 5.1 on the DVD player. I've hooked this system up in my last six apartments, twice with a rear projector. Never had any problems with any of the system, though the chrome is wearing off the control nob. Affixed the speakers to custom shelves to aim to the center of the room. After 10 years of running this every day it is just like new. Sound quality is fine enough to highlight whispers or shake dust of the ceiling fan. Loud enough to get the cops called at max. Only once did I run it at maximum for an extended period of time, and the sub tripped the thermal protection shut off. Reset ten minutes later and runs like a top. Would highly recommend
Cons: Cable management in the rear is difficult, but only during setup.
Overall Review: Volume at 30% is loud enough to hear over the vacuum anywhere in the house
Great Flow, High Noise
Pros: VERY high flow rate. Easy to install with #8 machine screws or normal fan cover screws. Good reliability, (I have 8 of 9 after 16 months and none were DOA)
Cons: Very Loud, I can't stress this enough. At 7-8V they calm down some without much loss in flow rate. Also, these fans do not work will with Linear-Pots (10k or 15k quickly catch fire), though good with bigger fan controllers.
Overall Review: I have 8 of these in parallel for my CPU fan, and even at 5v nothing ever breaks 55C (i7 920 4.0GHz). Great buy, but you need a cover and often a rubber gasket for safety and vibration.
