ASUS ProArt Series PA246Q Black 24.1" 6ms P-IPS Height/Swivel/Pivot Adjustable LCD Monitor w/2 USB hub, Card Reader & Display port 400cd/m2 50000:1 DCR
ASUS ProArt Series PA246Q Black 24.1" 6ms P-IPS Height/Swivel/Pivot Adjustable LCD Monitor w/2 USB hub, Card Reader & Display port 400cd/m2 50000:1 DCR

Pros: 1920x1280 resolution, not just 1080. Pivots to portrait orientation for very tall use of 1920 lines vertically. Good set of input ports including DisplayPort.

Cons: Annoying color covergence/separation problem resulting in red outlines, particularly irritating in portrait orientation.

Overall Review: More on the color convergence problem: With this ASUS PA246Q monitor, the red dots are clearly separate from the green and blue dots. So much so that in normal orientation, a vertical white line on a black background results in an "outline" red line just on the left edge of the white line. In portrait orientation (rotated 90 degrees right), since horizontal lines are common in the middle of text, this results in many red lines above white, or red features just agove letters. This "color convergence" problem is not present or at least not as severe on my other monitor, currently a Dell 2007FP monitor that can also pivot like this PA246Q. And, I know that this problem is not an artifact of analog signalling since this problem is present using digital connections such as HDMI and DisplayPort as I am using. Nevertheless, I really like how this monitor has a resolution of 1920x1280 as opposed to just 1920x1080 (HDTV-style).
