So far so good

iStarUSA BPU-350SATA-SILVER 3x5.25" to 5x3.5" SAS/SATA 6.0 Gb/s Hot-Swap Cage
iStarUSA BPU-350SATA-SILVER 3x5.25" to 5x3.5" SAS/SATA 6.0 Gb/s Hot-Swap Cage

Pros: Worked right away and did not notice any obvious flaws in its design. Seems to be of decent quality.

Cons: Would like a more quiet fan, but really not that bad. Instructions are somewhat vague.

Overall Review: Other reviews on iStarUSA backplanes had me a little worried about the loudness of the fan, but where its at in my case its not that bad. (I have a long 4U so the sound has to go all the way through the rest of the case which acts as a muffler) As others have mentioned the instructions are not very clear but every drive has a button you have to push with a paper clip on the front of the unit in order to supply it with power.

Great chassis

iStarUSA D-400L-7/660 Steel 4U Rackmount Server Chassis 7 External 5.25" Drive Bays
iStarUSA D-400L-7/660 Steel 4U Rackmount Server Chassis 7 External 5.25" Drive Bays

Pros: It's nice and big! Plenty of room for 2 of iStar's hot swap drive chassis and an optical drive. Cooling is provided by three 120mm fans with neat brackets that make them easy to pull out and clean. Overall quality seems to be great.

Cons: Those three 120mm fans are LOUD. If you want to be anywhere around this thing for any amount of time you will either want to replace the fans with more quiet ones or have a fan controller of some sort and slow them way down. I hooked the fans up to some old zalman fanmates and slowed them way down as the the three fans barely running still cool the case quite nice.

Overall Review: As there is only really one 3.5" spot in the case if you want to add more hard drives and don't want to fuss with brackets I would suggest something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816215081 You can fit 2 of those in this case and have 10 hot-swappable drives as well as room still for 5.25" optical drive.
