A Solid Buy
Pros: -Solid design and build, this thing feels pretty durable. While certainly not a rock like some other laptops I've looked at, as long as you're reasonably careful with it, it should not disappoint -17.3" LED HD screen is very bright and vibrant -Boots fast despite initial bloatware, runs Win7 Home Premium Well -Good feel to keyboard, track pad sufficient -Speakers are not bad given that it is a laptop, but hard to evaluate since its all about user's individual needs. I'd say for a laptop, decent enough though. -USB 3 and HDMI ports are very nice to have -Ready out of the box -Quiet, functional, everything "works" as it should -Great for gaming
Cons: -Actual HD space is 732 GB (682 actual usable) from an advertised 750 GB. -Video Card seems like it might only have 1 GB of VRAM from Advertised 2. Will have to look into this -Acer Bloatware doesn't get into the way too much, but still there -Battery life 3 hours, good or bad depending on your individual use
Overall Review: With laptops, or any tech device, its all about expectations. For this price, I feel this is a solid buy. This laptop can function as a work AND a gaming machine with ease. If you want a cutting edge system, spend 2 or 3 times more and get a cutting edge graphics laptop. But given the price and specs, I think this is a great balance of cost and performance.
Another great Samsung Monitor
Pros: Another excellent monitor from Samsung! I upgraded to this one from my Samsung 19" LCD and the higher resolution is really great! The brightness is incredible and the contrast ratio of 800:1 is wonderful. This screen is huge!
Cons: Arrived with 1 dead pixel; not bad - they can't assure every last pixel on every last screen is on before shipping (there are millions of pixels per screen, afterall). It's stuck on black so it's not that bad. The stand is a little bit tricky to use, but overall, very little to complain about.
Overall Review: Highly recommended if you are looking for a large LCD monitor for a reasonable price. I don't see why anyone would need anything larger! I recommend this over 20.1" widescreens simply because you get more "real-estate" (pixels), and, Wide-screen is only great if you watch movies/play wide-screen games all the time.
