Pros: Exceptional screen resolution Fast and stable Secure Best laptop keyboard!
Cons: A little thick compared to others RAM needs upgrading before use Installed software bogs down machine, fresh format recommended out of the box
Overall Review: Excellent notebook. I ordered 2GB of additional RAM giving me 3GB total, this made a HUGE performance difference. I also freshly reformatted the machine to get rid of all the garbage Lenovo installed, plus the OS configuration was pathetic and performance was very slow. After the upgrade and format, this laptop screams in speed and runs exceptionally well with no issues thus far.
Great starter screen
Pros: Motorized Screen High contrast gray screen Very light weight projects a great image considering the cost
Cons: does not produce as high a contrast and clarity as more expensive screens motorized screen requires separate IR box which has to be mounted, they should have incorporated this into the screen casing. The black border around the screen does not kill the projected light, it does show a slight reflective property so when image is off the gray for a perfect fit, it does show unlike other screens of this nature.
Overall Review: For a first time screen, and with the price i paid with a combo deal, this screen will be in my home for a while. I would eventually like to upgrade to a fixed, more attractive "TV like" screen with a higher contrast capability, but if you are looking for a lower cost screen that does perform great and with motorized control, I would defiantly recommend this unit.
Excellent Projector for the $$
Pros: Excellent skin tone right out of the box Excellent black levels Decent luminosity range Good contrast Plenty of inputs and picture settings Good rating on bulb life
Cons: Odd throw when mounting higher than screen on shelf, had to shim it even more then projectors legs could extend, eventually got picture perfect. Runs pretty hot. As any projector, gets washed out in medium to high levels of light.
Overall Review: I bought this with the Silvermax 94h projector screen and this thing is solid. Performs with a astonishing picture, accurate and detailed image. I have this on a pioneer elite receiver with ps3, xbox 360, tivo HD w/ verizon service. Blu-Ray and HD Cable look excellent, standard TV looks great and the PS3 and XBOX 360 are incredible and lifelike. Overall, this is an outstanding projector, especially for the money, and rivals many, MANY higher priced projectors with less then half the picture quality and life span on bulbs.
Nice Product... Even For An iPod
Pros: Very thin and light. Great contrast on screen. Good storage. Very simple interface. Extremely simple to create video.
Cons: The earbud speakers are worthless. Only supports mp3 and AAC. Bettery life COULD be longer.
Overall Review: Recommend using either Handbrake (for mac) or dvd to ipod converter (for pc) to convert all your DVDs (movies and tv shows) to you ipod video. I've used both and they are extremely easy to use and convert perfect video playable every time on the iPod. Just a reminder to all the reviewers... please don't give products bad reviews because of shipping issues... they do NOT reflect the product, only Newegg.com... so for all our sake, give honest reviews about the product ONLY!!!!
resolution does matter
Pros: Cost, Doesnt come with shotty speakers, light, good size.
Cons: Extremely low resolution for HDTV. Weak contrast when compared to the averagee 10,000:1 of most plasma tv's.
Overall Review: Resolution DOES matter, the above review must not have "done the research". If you are watching a true 1080i/p broadcast, then this tv will only show 480 pixels worth of detail. Yes, the image will look good, but you will not get the FINE details in textures (which is basically the entire reason for HDTV) with this set. The higher the pixel count and closer together the better quality of image and detail you will obtain. This set will ONLY get as high as DVD quality. HDTV is already 2 1/2 times that. FYI 1080i is as least 1920x1080 resolution... the vertical (2nd measurement) is where it tells you the native quality of the HD broadcast. This tv is 480p at its highest possible count.
