Most Critical Review

Great... while it lasted

Corsair Performance 3 Series 2.5" 64GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-P364GB2-BRKT
Corsair Performance 3 Series 2.5" 64GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) CSSD-P364GB2-BRKT

Pros: Great speed (remember to turn on AHCI) Supports TRIM feature

Cons: Died after 1.5 months. SMART data unreliable (according to Corsair tech support forums) Too little space (after installing windows and all my dev tools I was down to 15GB of space; should have gone bigger).

Overall Review: Well, it worked well while it lasted. Remember with these drives it's important to tweak your windows to move things like your pagefile. Even though I tweaked my windows ro keep the writes down all of a sudden one day some programs were crashing. Thought it was windows so I rebooted and had a BSOD. chkdsk reported unreadable file segments which is a hallmark of failing disks. SMART had unrecoverable sector errors but according to tech support forum at Corsair the SMART data is unreliable because of varied vendor support/interpretation. Anyway, even though the self tests reported OK and in fact an MHDD scan reported ok (probably because the chkdsk already marked the bad sectors) I was unable to create an image. I'm going to RMA the drive and hopefully get a good replacement. One note is that corsair is a ~2.15% failure by some stats while Intel is ~0.5%. I found this reported on various websites and thought it was interesting...
