Proceed With Caution!

Pros: It sounds good on paper especially the part about it protecting wireless internet users like me. Had a lot of great security features. The price I paid with Newegg.com wasn't this high!
Cons: I'm not certain it was responsible but my PC performance slowed considerably once it was loaded & I ran a scan. I'm not sure how much hard drive space this program uses. I had difficulty reloading my wireless router software after the installation. It kept telling me something was trying to attach to my web browser & eventually it did. Turned out to be a hacker tool with a threat of 4 and 38 spy cookies. This happened twice in 1 week! My internet kept showing "protected mode: off". When I went into my control panel, it was on but a hacker turned it off! Some of the features were difficult to figure out even for someone with a little tech knowledge. I'm pretty savy at figuring things PC related out but this proved to be very challenging. It seems to adhere itself to all components of your PC just like a virus would. I found that a little scary because if you don't know all of the places to remove software components from, you're are in trouble. Read on and you'll see why.
Overall Review: This thing coupled with my Clear Wire ISP provider was a nightmare to fix! A hacker had already infected my PC that took me 2 days to get back up & running. I had to do a full system recovery because Trend Micro couldn't tell me how to effectively uninstall their program! It kept telling me to uninstall it but would appear again after a restart. After many hours on the phone with them & other useless tech support people, I had to resort to a full recovery which took the remainder of my day & part of the wee a.m. hours. Needless to say I was fried. If you've ever done a full recovery you know what I mean. I returned it & went back to Webroot. I don't wholly fault TM for this issue. Clear Wire uses a radio frequency that is WEP encrypted not WPA which is a better encryption. I believe the virus came from Clear Wire's system. I've owned 3 PC's & none have ever had viruses or hacker tools on them. I hate Webroot because they lack live customer support but went back with them anyway.
Not Happy With This Product

Pros: Great size, easy to fit onto any desk size.
Cons: I'm pretty tech savy, my ethernet card blew out in my desktop. Didn't want to pay Geek Squad to fix it. Changed from broadband to wireless. Need adapter to make work. Device not compatible with Windows XP, the package doesn't say it is either. Microsoft will not allow it to be installed without a compatability check by them first. They give a warning when you try to install software. Software and product were very difficult to install, created problems for wireless internet router which kept me on phone for 2 hours with techs at ISP & wireless router manufacturer. Next day I had to repeat the process. That is when I discovered Microsoft's warning. It's simply not a good idea to buy this, or any product that hasn't been approved by Microsoft first where the packaging doesn't have the official approval seal from Microsoft if you have a PC. It will never download properly or work effectively. There has to be a reason why they didn't approve it.
Overall Review: Desktop has XP, requires adapter to use wireless router. Read reviews on Newegg, chose this based on that. Everyone had same complaint-driver software included not functioning and they were right. You can't download new drivers if you can't connect to the internet which was my problem. This product and software created a host of installation problems and caused my PC to start flickering uncontrollably. Too much time spent on problematic installation, simply not a good value for the price especially if Microsoft warns that it could cause permanent problems for your PC. Now I have to return it and restart process of figuring out what to buy all over again. If I could contact newegg.com support to get a better idea that would be helpful. I have to say if you have XP on laptop or desktop don't use this device because it is not compatible.
